You go boy! I think it's great that citizens like you are willing to do the job the useless federal government refuses to do! I'm proud of you. I would love to join. They don't have that here where I am however. I am not on a border state but I would love to be part of something so meaningful. Keep America safe from these menaces. Way to go!

It is a good job. It is also very demanding. If you do, make sure you join for the right reasons. Make sure you are prepared to set on an "X" in 120 degree heat, and still be able to deal with the problems that pop up on the border.
For more info, go to the BICE site and check them out there.
Delphi Forums also has a border patrol message board.

I live on the border and have lots of friends who are in the Border Patrol, US Customs, and ICE. With a chip on your shoulder, and an attitude like that, my guess is that you'd probably last about 2 weeks before you: a) were fired for breaking protocol, b) were run out by fellow agents for being a racist/xenophobe, c) quit because you realized "shooting beaners" wasn't part of the job description, or d) had a big change in your attitude and beliefs about the cultural, political, legal situation on the border.
It's a very admirable job though.

If you feel your career path is leading you there, by all means work for them.
But please make sure you have tolerance for different societies. Illegal immigrants are one thing (they are illegally trying to enter a country), however you shouldn't discriminate against people who have legal right to enter the country based on their outward appearance.
Keep in mind as well that it is a tough job. Dealing with people all day long, some of which have extremely poor english speaking skills and cultural challenges cannot be the easiest job around.

honestly the us mexico border is the least of our worries. From everythign ive seen with mexicans they are nothign but hard working Individuals who love this country as much as the next. On the other hang, cubans in miami have a bad habit of getting on welfare and sucking my money away while trying to change miami Into cuba.

Well, I know many in the border patrol, two of my cousins are in the border patrol....They don't have that attitude towards illegals...
You have to remain neutral and only see it as a job...I don't mean, to not have passion, but to keep it in check...I talk with my cousins from time to time and they really have no ill will towards illegals....
They see it as a job, and try not to get emotionally involved....I guess you have to approach it that way, to be the most effective...
good luck, it pays pretty good too.

When, please God, one of them becomes president of the USA, I am sure he will be more humane a peace loving then its current & 2 previous presidents.
As for "illegal" immigrants from Mexico, who "illegaly immigrant" to Texas, California or other Mexican soil illegaly occupied by the US-this is no more then a matter of people immigrating from one part of their land to another. Nothing is wrong with it.

Best way to get on with the border patrol, is to speak spanish as a second language. Mandarine Chinese is a good one to get you in too.

With out mexicans your country will go down, can you understand that?
Texas is the 9th economy of the world, thanks to mexicans, they do all the hard work, because we are to lazy for that.
75% of the poblation in california is latinoamerican and with out the mexicans you wont have food, only chemicals, you wont have fast food, in almost all the places with fast food survive thanks to mexicans.
Disneyland will go down because almost all disneyland products are from mexico.
Mexico is the second most important countrie for U.S.A.
(After China)
