then why do men go more for external than internal?

We go for both. You need to add a qualifier to your question. I think what you're really asking is why men's sexual decisions are based on external, rather than internal data.

We have great female friends who we adore because of their internal functions, but we choose our sexual partners based on their external attributes. A long-term relationship grows from a mixture of sexual, intellectual, and emotional stimuli.

There are no cut and dried answers.

I think a bit of it has to do with the perceived stereotype that men have in our culture. The culture says "This is a man," and so the man imitates the behavior in order to be labeled as masculine or whatever.

Of course, a lot of it is biological, etc. Testosterone and other hormones make the man geared towards more the physical side of things rather than the emotional.

It's like a first impression I think. Sometimes the first impression is WRONG! I think sometimes they see who is going to be the "easy target." And the more beautiful girls seem to be the ones who "put out" more? Does that make sense. I am certainly not trying to critisize anyone with that, but it does seem to be the truth.

Some guys out there do go for inner more than external...I have a guy who did that! :)

Now let's get serious. You are first attracted by external features when you see someone for the first time.
If, however you are introduced to someone you don't really like at first , you can get to like or love that person for who they really are, or you can get to dislike the one you were attracted to in the beginning. It is better to like someone than love someone......

it's a biological thing. it's instinct to grab the most attractive because they would more likely have better genes. once they get past that (as i later found out) personality becomes a much higher priority :)
