For boys, that sounds about right. The youngest a boy will go into puberty without chances of it being caused by a medical problem is 9 years old.

"Usually, puberty starts between age 8 and 13 in girls and age 10 and 15 in boys. Some kids begin a bit earlier or later than that, and kids can experience puberty-related changes at any point during those years. That may help explain why some of your friends still look like young kids whereas others look more like adults."

Going through puberty can vary on many different factors. Some researchers have found that African-American girls start puberty around the ages 8-9. Also, if you are on the chunky side girls tend to go through puberty around that age. If you are comfortable talking to your mom I would ask her when she went through puberty. Normally what ever age your mom started you would start around that age too.

Usually doctors say you start puberty around 13. But I started puberty at 12. Then i met this guy who started at 18. ( he wasn't very lucky ) It really just depends on how your body develps but I believe you will start puberty around 12 1/2.

Hope that Helps and Best Wishes!

Anytime between 9 and 18 actually. I didn't start my period until I was sixteen, but puberty symptoms started much earlier. I was a Junior Olympic gymnast, so that's why I didn't start until late.

But my youngest neice started her periods at 11, so you very well might be.
