The Tiger Woods we've all come to know showed up to defend his title at the 2006 Open Championship. From start to finish he dominated the course at Royal Liverpool with his 2-iron off the tee. He ended up finishing at 18-under and 2 shots better than Chris DiMarco, which was 1 shot below his record setting 19-under during the 100th US Open at Pebble Beach in 2000. It was his 2nd consecutive British Open win and his 3rd overall (2006, 2005, 2000).
It was a very emotional week for Tiger because he seemed to have his lazer focus back, but he still had his recently past father on his mind. After making his final putt on the 72-hole of the championship he broke down and buried his head into his caddies shoulder. He knew at that moment that his dad would never be able to see him win again.
It was a very heart felt moment to watch and it brought a few tears to my eyes as well as it did for the many others across the world who watched it on TV. The superman of golf is human after all.
Thanks,
Don

Tiger Woods did. He's won his 3rd consecutive British Open title. He won it by leaving Chris Dimarco 3 shots behind. He won it in tears remembering his father, Earl Woods who died early this year.
He said: I hope my father could see this one last time.
