6000 rpm for 15 min will usually be enough to separate raw blood into whole blood and plasma.

To separate plasma into pletlet and serum, you will need at least 12,000 rpm for 20 min. (refrigerated)

It's not that easy. You don't need a centrifuge at all. If you collect the blood in a heparinized tube and leave it in a test tube rack it will separate on its own in about 20 minutes. The centrifuge just makes things happen faster and the faster the centrifuge the faster the separation. I used to have to "spin down" some samples several years ago and I think we only ran the samples for about 3-5 minutes. It was a long time ago and I might be remembering the specifics wrong however.

More than 7000 rpm for about 15 - 20 minutes.........
becoz the specific gravity of serum and other constitutents of blood........... have bit different...........
