Some of them are expensive but phenergan or compazine may be a good option IV. Zofran costs way to much as should be saved for chemo patients. If you have to give IV fluids you mine as well boost them with a little something to stop the throwing up to get them out of the cycle.

Oral medication such compazine (generic and comes in suppository form also) or meclizine (OTC) is a fairly inexpensive option. Biggest side effect of all of them drowsiness.

Ondansetron (Glaxo Smith Kline).is used for chemotherapy gastrointestinal upset. Vomiting is very distressing for a child.
It just came off patent in the U.S.A., so you could get a cheaper generic version of it if cost is an issue for you. (suppository diphenhydramine is good if the emesis is not due to cancer therapy.)

I don't belive in them because you should only use natural things. especially in a third world country where they can't afford the medicine in the first place. What researchers should be focusing on is natural things that grow in the area and using remedies that have been used for years that work.
