It should not be either annoying or repetitive, it should be something that you just do. You say please when asking for something from someone, if you want them to do something for you let them know you mean it by saying Please. If they do it let them know you got what you wanted by saying Thank You. Are you glad when someone does something for--let them know. It should be as natural as taking a breath. If that is annoying or hard for you then you are just spoiled and rude. Try being appreciative and grateful. Change the way you think and see how people will change their behavior towards you. they become glad to help you, try it you may be amazed. By the way Have a Nice Day.

Let's say you and I work in the same office. You find out it's my birthday, and you get me a nice card. I open the card, smile at it, and then lay it aside, saying nothng to you.

How would you feel? Grateful that I didn't annoy you with words you must have heard a hundred times?

I find this very important! It shows' that you respect the person you are saying Please and Thank you too. And that you care for what they have brought you or have given to you. I think it is a very necessary and forgetful thing that people have lost to do over the years. I wish more people would begin to say Please and Thank you more and more.

Whether people find them annoying or not is beside the point. It's never wrong to use good manners. Thank you for asking.

It's called manners. In a world where manners is decreasing at a quick rate I think it's vitally important to show at least a small amount of curtesy. If you had manners, you would know that yes, it is important.

Both. Very annoying, yet actually slightly important. It's a sign of respect and when someone tells me to say please or say thank you, it's kinda like they're forcing me to show respect for them that they assume I have. I'll actually do it on my own if you don't tell me to. But, I'm kinda rebellious, so I'll think anything someone tells me to do is unnecessary.

It's best to use these whenever appropriate. Just don't say "thank you" too many times when it is unnecessary and you'll be fine. General politeness seems to dwindling these days.

MANNERS are something that should be taught at home along with tying your shoes and learning your name, address and telephone number. Society is getting too far away from common courtesy!

It can get annoying. If someone is giving you a few compliments then i think one thank you is okay. Just smile if you are not sure what to do.
