First, those who manage well the circumstances which they encounter day by day;and those who can judge situations appropriately as they arise and rarely miss the suitable course of action.
Next, those who are honorable in their dealings with all men, bearing easily what is unpleasant or offensive in others and being as reasonable with their associates as is humanly possible.
Furthermore, those who hold their pleasures always under control and are not unduly overcome by their misfortunes, bearing up under them bravely and in a manner worthy of our common nature.
Most important of all, those who are not spoiled by their successes,
who do not desert their true selves, but hold their ground steadfastly as wise and sober-minded men, rejoicing no more in the good things that have come to them through chance than in those which through their own nature and intelligence are theirs since birth.
Those with all these are educated-possessed of all the virtues.

All are born equal with a blank slate of a mind. In due course of
life, they begin to take the traits from their family, and at maturity stage, make own decesions. These may not always be accepted
by everybody insociety, which has both negative & positives in
their midst, the eductaed holding greater knowledge hence power, and the illterate masses who comprise the labour force &
are few rungs below the ladder of wealth.
As is ones' position in society, same is their behaviour.

This essay was one of Socrates's earliest, when his philosophy was still "under construction". What he was describing is not so much an educated person as a wise person. There is a big difference, but at the time he didn't fully realize it. When you can tell the difference, you'll be well on your way to being considered wise.

You could go by what Socrates said, or you can make your own standard. Honestly, I think those with excellent people skills are the most educated, because they have figured out what is really important in life, and how to get it!

You call a person educated if that person has good academic knowledge
You call a person Intelligent if that person makes proper decisions and has a good IQ
Most important is a person who has good EQ. Because most people with good EQ's are intelligent and educated.

The farther I read, the less interested I became. What the hell was your point again? I have a feeling it has something to do with being atheist, and how all religions are wrong.

educated in what? Wisdom is a different subject, someone can play nintendo all day everyday and be pretty educated about that! Educated about life? Only philosophy can do that...
