My cat will always sit next to me, no matter what room I go in, he follows, and just wants to be near me. He eats dry food, so he's not waiting for me to feed him. There are 3 other cats in the house, and they all get along, so he's not lonely...I know he's comfortable, he lies on his back for most of the day :) There are also two other people in the house, it's not as though he is craving the attention. I'm just curious, why only me? He doesn't want to sit with his siblings, or the other people in the house. If I go to the kitchen to grab something, he stays with me till I leave, then follows me back into the other room. The only thing he doesn't do is sleep with me, thought he "tucks" me in everynight. He'll come in and sit with me while I fall asleep. It's very cute, but I just can't understand the "obsession" with me :)

I assumed it was a bond, I was just worried that it was a safety thing perhaps...maybe he felt threatened by something, although I can't imagine what!!! Thought maybe he felt as though I was protecting him.

Cats are preculiar creatures they have a favorite toy, favorite food. Favorite person, They want one owner and one owner only you are his person. You own him but you belong to him. I have a horse the same way. I own him but I belong to him and animals like this can get very pertective of their people. Nothing is wrong with it you and him have a bond that no one else or his siblings have. Some times God knows what we need in a friend more then we do. He provides one for us from time to time for extra companionship that either our pet needs or we need. Hope this answered and brought peace to your mind. Just enjoy his company as long as he's purring he's happy to be in your presence.

Some people just set off that vibe. My brother has that effect on cats. I had a black and white cat that wouldn't go to ANYONE except me. He hated strangers, didn't want to be around my kids, and hid most of the time. My brother came over, and my cat was all over him!

I've got 2 dogs and 2 cats, and both cats and one dog would prefer my affections to anyone else in the house.

Perhaps you're calmer. Perhaps he knows you respond well to him. Perhaps something about you just releases a pheromone or something. Just enjoy it and smile.

Either your cat would like to have you sit next to it, or it just finds it comfortable to sit on the edge. What makes you think it's leaving room for a ghost???

Some cats take a very affectionate liking to certain people and feel as if you are their best friend. Appreciate this and your cat will love you forever. Unlike dogs, cats may not want total attention and interaction, but only wish to be in your presence to feel comfortable.

I have a few cat's and they are all so different. They pick out who they like the best, really. Cats are very strange that way, there is no explanation for it I don't think.

Cats all have very distinctive personalities. Sounds like this cat really loves you. I had a cat like that and sadly he passed away about a week ago. He was 16.

My cats over the yrs have done the same thing. They follow me from room to room, even if I go to the bathroom shes right there. She just loves you. I would rather have a cat who follows me everywhere than one who wont come near me. Enjoy it, ur next cat might not be so lovable.

Your cat may like being with you better. Even though there are alot of people or cats that he can be with, he prefers being with you. Well I can relate in a way. My friends dog loves being with me until I did something she didn't like. Now the dog ignores me.

I have a couple of cats like that. One is always on me during the day. Another sleeps with me EVERY night. Another likes to suck my earlobes.......If I would let her. Enjoy the affection of the kitty! It's a very cool relationship to have an animal be so attached to you! He wont be around forever and you might miss it when it's gone. Love him! >"<
