Dogs do have feelings! They love companionship. In my opinion, a dog should never be alone.

Oh this is a tough one. Dogs grieve just like people do. Time and love are the best things to give her. Make sure she has discipline too. You have to be strong. When my dog Otto died a tragic death my other dog Champ looked for him for weeks and it was heartbreaking. He eventually stopped looking but once he showed signs of improving we introduced another dog into the home and now Roxy and Champ are good friends. That guy Ceasar Milan really knows what he is talking about when it comes to dogs and I watched 2 episodes last night on the same thing you are going through. I really recommend checking out his website. Also monitor your dogs eating habits and sleep. If you notice huge changes take her to the vet and see what can be done. There are drugs you can give dogs for depression.

Good luck and I am so sorry for your loss. They are like family members and I was so upset when my dog passed away.

Lots of love and attention. My husband passed, my daughter moved out and my dogs father was killed all within 2 months. My dog lost 3 at one time but I give him lots of attention and love and that has seemed to help some. Also bought him some new toys don't replace the loss he and I have endurded but he seems to be happier now.

Keep your dog very active as much as possible. Showing her a lot of attention will help her depression a lot. Take her for more walks, give her treats, try to get her mind off of things. It works for humans as well as animals.
Good Luck

I'm sorry, I would call your Vet., & explain how your Dog is reacting to the loss, & maybe they can suggest something to you, to help the Dog's Trauma, & Distress, everyone did give good advice, but maybe you would feel better if a Vet. Dr. suggests something too. All my best, to you, & I'm so sorry.

It sounds like you're both grieving.
I'd give your dog as much attention as possible. Play with her, take her for walks, take her to the park, let her know as much love as you can. It'll do you both some good.

Get her a puppy. She needs some companionship and responsibility when you arent there. Dogs love puppies, they give them a sense of purpose. Good luck...
