I know it's unpopular but try being honest with them. Tell them about the feelings you are having and the questions it brings up in you. do it almost in an apologetic way and see what their reaction is. you will free up your emotions and maybe open up even better communications between you. if all is cool then you can laugh about it later. you may also simply find something out about yourself that you never realized. just remember that the feelings you're having and the reactions you are experiencing are all yours. the only thing you can really hope to control in life is what happens in your head. what you hear may be a shock so be ready.

Tell them that you appreciate what they are doing to help , but that you are feeling anxiety and distrustful and you hope they will understand if you ask them to stop .

Ah....sounds like my side of the family! I distrust them, therefore I keep my distance. When I do see them though they act like they are my best friend. I just can't stand fake people, but I try to be cordial.

Say thank you, and smile, and treat what they do as suspect, but never outwardly display this distrust. Just keep your eyes open.

If you don't trust this person, there is probably a reason. Don't get fooled by someone trying to get on your good side by being nice.

accept it, but keep it to a certain level..dont get to the point where they can do a 180 on you and you have to owe them.
