my girlfriend is a very wonderful person. she is very nice and always puts a smile on a face. she's beautiful, smart, and fun, but i just need to move on. Our relationship is heading south. Should i just be honest with her or tell her what she wants to hear so i don't hurt her feelings? will we still be friends after the breakup?

Be a man, and do the right thing and tell her the truth. This is a life lesson, kid. You need to man up, and if you snivel your way out of this, you will never be a man. You will be faced with decisions like this, and consider this practice for even more important events when you really will have to be the man.

Yes, her feelings are going to hurt, yes she is going to cry, etc, but you are not Brad Pitt or Tom Cruise, she will get over you. You're just any other guy, so don't worry like it's going to ruin her life, you are not that important... no one is.

It's going to suck, you are going to feel guilty, but get over it. Again, you need to man up and do what is right.

Be honest. Being 'nice' will only create confusion and make her ( who she sounds wonderful by the way ) want to try to change things to salvage the relationship. The friends part of your question is a tough one that all depends on how long you've known each other. Or how strong the current friendship is. If she freaks out about your 'honesty' now, take solace in the fact that she may respect you for it later. No body likes to play games in matters of the heart. And lies are just a big joke. Good Luck and before you do anything, give yourself some time to think over your decisions. Letting a good girl slip away isn't something every guy has an opportunity to do. There aren't many good girls out there.

all the things you said about her were pretty nice. The truth hurts but its your best bet. Tell her that you can't see your relationship going anywhere and wanna try something new. I mean besides that what does she really want to her? I'm sure that no matter what you say she'll still be upset because you're breaking up. Your best bet is honesty, anything else might lead her on, and eventually hurt her even more

well i dont lie because it will only hurt her more. i know the truth hurts but she will be okay. I would tell her how you feel and be honest and tell her everything you just said in your description of her. tell her that she still is beautiful, smart, and fun but its just not working and that you will want to be friends. she probly wont want to be friends at first because it is hard.

the truth is always better than lies...in the long run. tell her how you truly feel. she probably won't belive you at first, but she'll get over it soon. you might still be friends, but probably not for a few months after the breakup.

ok, i think you should tell her the truth. my last GF had the same wonderful things that you say about yours. first i told her that this relationship was going nowhere, and i broke up with her, but she told me that she wanted to be my friend, ,because after all we had a lot of things in common, after a while i told her the truth and nowadays we are good friends. is up to you
