I saw a magazine called Lily in a bookstore a couple weeks ago. It had instructions on how to make a garden with plants in the Bible and everything. Have you seen it? Why would anyone think there needs to be a Christian alternative to Better Homes and Gardens or House and Garden, for pity's sake?

(I can't find a website for it.)

I just don't have enough imagination to see how the decorating magazines out there already (and I read a lot of them) can incite anyone to sin, I guess.

I see ads for wine and fine liquors in decorating magazines, but never anything provocative. I also don't recall cigarette ads (cigs stink up and burn your nice furniture!)

Well, you kind of answered it yourself. Christians don't NEED a Christian decorating magazine, but they might WANT one. People tend to trust others when those others are more like themselves. For instance, would you buy a CD based on a recommendation of your grandfather or a friend you know from school? You usually trust your grandfather right? But when it comes to things like music, fashion, etc.. you trust the opinion of those who you can identify with most. Christians (or Democrats, Republicans, Muslims, gays, rednecks, etc... for that matter ) tend to trust the opinions of those that they identify with. This magazine is trying to win market share based on this natural tendency.

Religious people buy religious products. It's a simple marketing tactic. For example, It's just like making a magazine about video games for people who play video games. You don't look at this as some sort of insult to yourself do you? That would seem highly insecure of you if that's true.

Just another HUSTLE.

Nothing bad ---- just like bringing out a garden book for left handed people with blue eyes. Its call ""NIeTCH PUBLICATIONS"""- for one specific audience. There is even a magazine just for Real Estate Sales People.

Probably because it is a specific topic and someone wants to cover it because enough people want to learn more about it.

Why would we need a magazine called "Poultry Farmer News?"

Dunno, but you can subscribe!

Isn't it amazing. We also have our own satellite company..Sky Angel. It might not have all the advertising like cigarettes, alcohol, provocative.etc. We try to keep our eyes focused on what is right.

Because apparently anything that's for someone other than Christians isn't good enough for them to read. They think they should have their own everything.

People that are in to herbs and plants always want to know more about the history of them.
