Don't do anything, unless this person is very irrational. Bipolar disorder occurs in many people and there is nothing wrong with a person that suffers from this. If their condition is severe and they aren't treated, there might be cause for concern. Otherwise treat this person as you would any other. Their thought patterns may be different , but they are people too.

Well coming from almost the same situation now. with me being the one in the relationship with a bipolar.. You really just need to be there for them, but also encourage your friend to learn more about the disorder. and jsut to be there for them when times are rough.. Main thing is not to think about the disorder ,treat it like an ordinary relationship with more ups and downs. which your friend should be VERY aware will happen.. Im currently going through a mania state with my bf and its very hard and stressful on me and i wouldnt get this far without my friend.. all you can really do is be there for them. Good luck

sit your friend down and ask him/her if the person they are seeing is on any medication. If they are not on medication, make sure they get medication and some help. Bi-polar is a very scary disorder and when getting involved with someone with this particular disorder, you need to be very PATIENT and you need to have an understanding of the situation. Recommend that they read up and learn about it. There are alot of sites on the www, that can help. Good luck.

First, realize that bipolar disorder is not a crime, so one could hardly be a suspect. Second, realize that it's not your business, and start being a good friend.

It sounds like you suspect the person has committed a crime. If the person is taking medicine for it or seeing a therapist, there should be few problems with it. If they are abusive or destructive in some way and your friend tells you about it or you see it, then you can say 'maybe they aren't right for you'. Otherwise, no need to meddle.
Choose words carefully. I know what you are trying to say, but it sounds like "I wouldn't touch them with a ten foot pole and my friend shouldn't either because he seems crazy".

Let your friend know that the person is suspected of having the disorder and let the friend decide if they still want to stay with that person.

Well unless the friend has asked your advice it's in the None-ya department. If she has then I would urge her to tread carefully if this person is not married to her than she cant' really tell him what to do. She could urge him that there is help for his struggles and to see his physician and let them take it from there. The MD can decide if he need s a shrink or something else and make educated recommendations.

Blessings.

You sound like it's a crime to be involved with someone suffering from such a disorder.

There's nothing you can *do* about it. Just keep being a friend...no more, no less.
