.........and what did I get? Intelligent , thought out, rageful answers. Does an Atheist believe that his secular progressive ideas are NOT rammed down the throats of God believers. Recent societal changes are strong, and they are offensive to believers. I say this because alot of what I got with my last question was, Christianity is forced upon individuals(paraphrased). Right away, the question was perceived as an insult. Why? Its a question. Take it light.

Atheist like to push their beliefs on everyone and then claim that they believe in nothing... they hide behind their "non-belief" which is actually belief that there is no God...

They whine and complain that Christians proselytize but then they do the very same thing and try and convert everyone to their belief system...

Hypocritical if you ask me

I went ahead and read the question you are referring to and the answers, and yes I did find some angry answers from non believers, but i also found quite a few angry answers from christians.

Religion and belief has always been a delicate subject, wars have been fought over it and thousands of people have been killed, either in sacrifice to a particular god or burnt at the stake for not believing in a certain god, church or way of life.

I find atheists and agnostics to be a very passive group, at least when it comes to their beliefs. But I can imagine how they can be specially sensitive nowadays, because I, as a non believer in any of the mainstream faiths, get angry and frutrated too, of how fundamentalism, either in Christianity, Islam or Judaism, etc. is tearing our societies once more.

And in that anger and frustration, atheist, agnostics and most likely wiccans, new age folk and all those groups which don't follow mainstream religion and who are more liberal in thought and action, and hold peace and kindness as a priceless good, are blinded, like all imperfect humans that we are, and label all christians as Bush followers, enemies of freedom and of life.

We tend to forget momentarily that there are lots of good christians and every pro-christian comment we hear or read, even if meant in good faith, we asociate with oil wars, lies, fundamentalism, patriot acts, whatever.

I think you will find that relgious people are a lot more angry than atheists over all, apart from the fact that it's also a proven fact. Ever wondered why so many people in jail for long-term or on death-row convert to religion. As I have repeatedly said ...

My studies and research shows that religious people are not exactly rocket scientists, they tend to be below average intelligence, and also have a tendency to be more violent than non-believers. In some cases, the more violent the person, the more religious they are. I suspect that the vast majority of religious people are well below average intelligence.

I wonder if trying to improve the intellectual standard of our global community, would help remove the various religions from our culture, and thereby improve happiness and peace for humanity.

It’s a statistical fact that the higher your education, income, and intelligence, the more likely you are not to believe in a god. For every college student that converts to a religious belief system, 17 college students convert to atheist beliefs.

Atheists have an average intelligence of 25 IQ points above their Christian counterparts. Ever wondered why the USA (75% Christian) is so arrogant, aggressive or violent towards others in this world?

The christian idea of "god" is a masculine being. If there really is a "god" it is neither masculine or feminine, but both. Since there is too much design in this impromptu world, I believe there is a creator. This being is of pure energy and can take the shape of anything it wants. I believe it to be a nourishing being that provides for its "pets" (us). We don't understand how or who it is so we make up what we call religions to help us cope with the unknown. It is a useful tool for controling the masses and giving something to focus on in times of mental stress.

The world is coming closer to the second coming. Just look at Revelation. The things that are happening now and the things that are to come are only bringing us closer to that glorious day! Non believers cannot put 2 and 2 together because they are not armed. The word of God is the sword of the spirit. Faith being the shield. If you don't have either, it would be difficult to associate the world's situation now, with the second coming!

It is a sad shame that after centuries non believers are finally getting brave enough to speak up about who we are, while the religious have done this forever, the religious only after just a short time of listening to us are trying to force us to shut up. They have gotten to speak for a very long time... but you know, I guess we'll go back into hiding and let them have THEIR world since they think they own it all.

After all that non believers and others have put up with so long, Christians have not had to put up with much from us for hardly a fraction of that time. Can dish it out, but can't take it.

I'm not angry, and I have good friends that are believers, and most other believers I like fine enough as well. But it's cry babies who just want to oppress us, make us go away, and dominate the freakin' world that irk me. Learn to deal, we have forever, but I guess we've had lots of practice thanks to the religious.

It is frustrating. I can honestly say that I am not forceful. Yeah you bring up the subject (which people on this forum are here doing, i mean why else be here) I'll discuss it with you. You can't give someone a tissue and be mad that they blew their nose, right? It is getting to be a scary world where the only people who are told to shut up are the Christians.

However you have to admit your question was loaded and you poured gasoline on the flame.

I am a non believer. It upsets me when christianity is forced upon me. It really makes me angry when im told "If you dont believe in god you're going to hell" I understand that athiesm is forced upon people alot more in today's society. It also upsets me when athiests start stuff up over things like "in god we trust" being on currancy and demanding it be removed. Its a total waste of tax payers money. Im layed back mostly, I just trust science over blind faith

Yes I've noticed how angry they are and soo wise. Urgh, leave the dead to bury the dead. I find it interesting that self professed Atheists are as fanatical as many Fundamentalist fanatics. They have much in common
