My coworker and I deal with illegals every day. After work I told her how I really feel about illegals. Now, any time someone is a jerk,,,and I say something, she thinks I am somehow treating the person that way because they are illegal, but I am treating them that way because the are a jerk. I am totally against amnesty and for church assistance and she is totally for it. how can we get along if I am already treating the illegals like I would anyone else.

Sounds like you are... being pro immagration can be the thing that brings you together... explain the you don't object to legal immigration, but because of terrorism we need to have control over our boards. To ask anything less would be a request for you to risk your family for illegal immigrantion. You can also start writing your congressmen and suggesting that they place pressure on the mexican government to push for economic change in the country so that mexicans can enjoy the wealth. Sometimes you just have to look else where for good friends and just be cordial to people like this. Many who support abortion have just agreed to disagree.

the best way I deal with an issue like this is just don't talk about it. advoid it. I have mix emotions. Think why she is for immigration. there are many jobs that americans will not take that the illegals take. I think the INS system should be changed because of those that want to become Americans can have the chance to become americans and contribute. ALso think of all the people that were here before america was formed. Was it there fault to be forced out of a america and into mexico and now there children are illegal.

Again just don't talk about it.

It's beyond me how anyone can claim to be a patriot and for his country if he or she at the same time thinks it's OK to break the law ... why do people care more about making a permanent underclass driving down wages in the U.S. than they do about their own? I think the sympathy of the pro illegals is totally misplaced ... it does no good for anyone, neither the illegals, nor the Amerian tax payers ... the only ones who benefit are the greedy corporations ...

Immigration is a controversial subject in society today. It is okay to disagree with eachother. however, i can see that you feel misunderstood when she thinks your treating someone differently because they're an illegal and not b/c they're acting like a jerk. i would go out of my way to be extra polite to those who are not acting like jerks (whether they're legal or not) so she can see that you're treating them based on behavior and not immigrant status

I have extreme right and extreme left friends. I am a fence sitter in both of their eyes. I do not agree with either of their parties and they try to convince me I should be one way or the other. My very good friends are very right-wing conservative monsters. But we are friends. My liberal friends who are very book smart, tend to disagree with me on the illegal alien issue. They want open borders and have this corporate slave driven society as one. Disagree with them on the illegal aliens, always. Still best buds. What more can you ask for. Just don't ever bring up religion in a debate..

Tell your friend about the advantages of no illegals and make her understand that it is the right choice for the progress of the state. Help regulate immigration but be humane to illegals.

That is a tough one! Try as best as you can to avoid that issue. I have had people who e-mail me who are for illegals and I am absolutely against it but we get along fine otherwise.

You can't be friends. If you treat anyone like you treat an illegal, I would'nt worry about having any friends.

Contact Homeland Security to arrest those illegals. Never mind that so-called friend of yours.
