I've seen a lot of Elvis Impersonators, and two things are obvious; they don't look like Elvis, and they all look alike.

Is it impossible for some Christians to let Christ do the thinking, the arguing, and let him win the hearts and minds of the people? Show the love, and the people will come...

Your analogy seems to work, and is well-intended.

It's not really their fault, it's the leadership they follow. Christians go into churches thinking that what is taught is Truth. Most of the leadership doesn't have a vital connection with the true "Elvis" so the true essence doesn't come through, just some idea about him. Those that do have the connection pass on "be connected!" Don't follow me, follow Him. Here's how...instead of teaching their ideas of what it might be. It's sad, but I see things changing. So there is HOPE.

Never thought of it that way.

Christ can't really do anything without "his body". No, not his mortal body, but his followers. They spread the message the best way they see how. Christ's words on the printed page have no power unless someone acts on them in his behalf.

There needs to be less finger pointing, less judging and more of the love. I agree with you there.

Elviss impersonators are basically harmless, christian fundamentalists are not. But yes, they all start to look alike
