Most are to scared to try.
It explains itself.

The book of Revelation is where you will find the real "Bible codes". The key to unlocking them is found in the rest of the Bible. Many of the images that are hard to get an understanding of just by reading the immediate context of the surrounding passages can be "unlocked" by looking at other books of the Bible. For instance, people may wonder who the woman in Revelation 12 is? Some people think that it represents the church. But if you compare these two passages you see that the woman is really a representation of the 12 tribes of Israel.
Revelation 12:1 And a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars.
Genesis 37:9 Then he dreamed another dream and told it to his brothers and said, "Behold, I have dreamed another dream. Behold, the sun, the moon, and eleven stars were bowing down to me."

Both, sometime walk in and watch a Catholic mass some of the symbology will make more sense the Liturgy of the Mass (not the harlot bit which is about ancient Rome and who knows) or an Eastern Orthodox Church they call it the Divine Liturgy. Read the Early fathers of the Catholic Church, the Eastern Fathers of the 2 and 6th centuries, eschatological interpretations of the Eucharist. And try The Lamb's Supper by Scott Hahn it does become much more clear

I personally think that no one completely understands the whole Bible and Revalations falls into that catagory. I also think it has nothing to do with the Bible or God but it's man that can't understand it all. I believe if you were close enough to God and prayed with a sincere heart for understanding (and for the right reasons) you could understand it all. I just don't believe a mortal person can get there. The flesh holds us back.

No, it is not a mystery. We have the ability to understand it. Contact a local Kingdom Hall with Jehovah's Witnesses and you can ask for publications about Revelation.

Yes, Revelation means (the future, or what is to come) it is very symbolic, in order to understand it you must know the meaning of the symbols used in it's context.

I don't think we are meant to understand it all at once. A little will be revealed at a time....to God's people.....unbelievers will never get it....it will be a mystery and therefore even with their high IQ's they love to brag about, they will make a joke of it. out of fear and ignorance.

Revelation is proof that God really does have a sense of humor.

Just try to get the abstract of it and you should get to see the bigger picture. That there is a God and eventually He will judge every man according to his deed. I believe that is a reason enough for us to seek God and understanding His will (to use a cliche.)

You're allowed to understand it if you want to, but you won't be able to if you think it's about future events, or if you fail to recognize the symbolism and metaphor.
