hey Mr. "chevy is great, blah, blah" Any honest shop out there will tell you that GM keeps them in business more than any other make.

as for the question, the Colt is actually a Mitsubishi and has a great reputaion. Owners love them and will probably be buried in them.

I wouldn't worry about what some moron says about not liking your vehicle. If you're happy with it & it's been reliable, there's really no problem. Most of it has to do with being associated with Dodge(Mopar). You're always going to get some GM or Ford idiot saying crap like "Get a real car man".
I once owned a '74 Charger with a 318(5.2liter) that I beefed up some & got great performance out of. It looked & ran beautifully. I still had Chevy dipsh*ts saying "Dodge? Get a real car", despite the fact my ride would kick the hell out of their POS Novas or Camaros. Unfortunately I let a girlfriend borrow it & she was nice enough to total it. File that away for future reference if your girl wants to take it for a spin. ;-)
Ok, enough of my digression. Anyone gives you static about your Colt, tell them to screw off & mind their own business. That is unless they're willing to provide a new vehicle of your choice for you free of charge. Pretty unlikely though. ;-)
Keep up the maintenance & enjoy driving it.

Phantom, I don't necessarily hate Chevies per se'. But I get more sh*t from their owners than any other make for driving Mopar. My brother-in-law has done several restorations, primarily Chevy. He's one of the few Bowtie guys I've run into that will actually compliment a Mopar. If I were to pick a Chevy, it'd be an Impala('59, '60 & '62), or a Yenko Camaro.
I sure don't believe they are the "toughest American built" cars. They're the cheapest, that's why you see so many on the road, usually on the side. LOL
Have a great weekend!

My friend had a colt for like 7 years and he couldnt kill the thing. At least it isn't a chevy (have you heard, they might be going out of business... wonder why...junk) It is actually a mitsubishi, and it will run forever. Although alot of eclipse owners would never admit it, the colt and the eclipse are very similar cars, in the parts and engineering of it. Just because it isn't as sporty doesnt mean it isnt reliable and good to own. Besides, there is nothing more embarassing to a self respecting person than to own a chevy. On a quiet day, you can hear a chevy falling apart from the inside out... clunk, snap, bang! Long live the colt!

bought wife a used 1982 1.4 litre. colt 8 spd. it was a good car she used it for approx 200k miles then bought her a new car in i995 and i took over the colt and put another 100k on it. the newer colt /mirage were just as good. mitsubishi parts are inordenatly expensive but they last also if timing belt is more than 5 yrs old [regardless of miles ] have it replaced and mabey the cam and crank seals too [your engine is a valve bender]

yea, all you people who said bad things about chevys need to go back to school...chevys are the most reliable, toughest civilian american car built. i'm a chevy guy, but i don't hate dodges. i know how it is when you say if they don't love it they hate it. i used to have a caprice and people made fun of it until they rode in it...great car.
