I believe that He does still talk to us. First through the Bible. The Bible is His Word. Written by Him. Jesus is His word in the flesh. Jesus life, death, and resurrection is recorded in this book. When you read and learn what God has said, then He reminds you that He loves you and what He has told you.
He tells us to be still and know that He is God. So, through prayer also He will talk to you. You must first have a personal relationship with His Son, Jesus.
The Bible is God's Word to us.
It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit.
Above all you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet's own interpretation. For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. 2 Peter 1:20-21. (New International Version)
Breakdown of the Bible
36 human authors inspired entirely by God over 1600 years.

Romans to Jude - Letters to the Churches

In the case of Adam, that was before sin had entered into this world. The Bible says that God spoke "face to face" with Moses who was the meekest or most humble man on the face of the earth. God did speak directly to us when Jesus wrapped Himself up in flesh and came down to earth. Now He speaks directly to us through his Word and the Holy Spirit.

hello,
Great questions. God has not stopped talking to us directly. Have you ever wanted to do something and all of a sudden that thing turns out bad and you were like" Thank God I did not do that.."? That was God who spoke quietly to you. Some people say my mind told me .... It is not your mind it is God if you are a child of God or when God wants to redirect you. Note that the same way, Satan speaks to everyone too the difference is what he asks you to do. One important thing is that God, the Bible tells us is a spirit and from the account of the bible God himself does not come to man but his angels did and still do in different forms
He speaks directly to us these days in our minds though sin is too loud that we hardly hear him but if we remain calm we will always here his still small voice. Pray that he enables you to understand when he is speaking to you..It is a gift from him.
Good luck in your search to know God

Ok well, I know it'll sound wierd, but it's true. Back i those days, there was sin, but not 1/2 as much as today. Although most of our sins come from omision(not knowing your sinning),they are still sins. To God sin is like ****, filthy, roten, smelly as ****. And because Earth is so filled with it, he doesn't even want 2 come down here. But no worries, thats why there are angels. May I remind you, God speaks through people, and sometimes, you might not think so, but God might send his messages to you through a little kid no older than 12 sometimes. If you want 2 ask my pastor you can e-mail him at:

PS: plz don't mention i said sin=shyt

I don't know about the directly part, but God does speak to me....and regardless of those who say that I must be crazy, or hearing voices, I am pretty clearly hearing God when His Spirit tells me things that comfort me or direct me, just as Jesus said the Spirit would do. I count myself blessed.

God directly speak to the person in the bible because at that moment there is no bible for them to read. However, nowadays we have bible to read and can realise the will of God through the bible.
I think God does not speak to us directly because he want to test if we are faithful or not and give us chance to choose whether to follow him.

Because you think that God speaks only in your language. He does not although he may. God speaks in many different ways and language. So yes, he does speak to us although not in the literal sense. In any case if God speak directly to us literally, is there a need then for you to have faith and believe? Defeats everything, wouldn't it???

Because there is no god to speak to us. Sorry, but its just us down here screwing things up, not some master plan. Adam probably came across some mushrooms or something that made him hear things.

You must half to be special or something cause some people really believe they hear, feel or what ever GOD but it just make me wonder are they suffering some kind of schizophrenia. If I was god I would appear before everyone and let my law be known.

God made life a test.
If he spoke to us directly, than we would all pass the test and be raised to Heaven. I mean who would deny God after having him speak to you in person. But that ain't the case. Its harder to be a believer than an atheist/unbeliever. Its all apart of who endures more and works for it without wanting to see or hear from God (as in his self and his voice.)
JUST RELY ON ALL THE OTHER THINGS HE SENT AS SIGNS.
