Solomon was a prolific writer. He composed 3,000 proverbs and 1,005 songs. He wrote the Song of Songs, the Book of Proverbs and Ecclesiastes.)
Solomon's wisdom is proverbial. The following famous story illustrates his wisdom as a judge. Two women came to his court, each claiming that she was the mother of the same baby. Solomon threatened to split the baby in half. One woman was prepared to accept the decision, but the other begged the King to give the live baby to the other woman. Solomon then knew the second woman was the mother.

Well the fact is that the Bible says that God gave King Solomon wisdom exceeding anyone else on earth. Unfortunately, his wisdom was insufficient to overcome his sin nature because he didn't have the indwelling Holy Spirit.
So while he started out well and God blessed him, he ended poorly and may not have even been saved. He multiplied to himself horses and riches and pagan wives against the previous commands God had given to the Israelites. And sure enough, just like God had warned, they led him into idolatry and only because of His love for David did God hold back bringing the consequences on him in a physical way until they fell on his son.
But when you read the book of Ecclesiastes, you see a man who is near the end of his days and far from God. Everything that he thought to accomplish by his wisdom was all "vanity".

I am not a Bible thumper, but I have studied many scriptures from different religions. I cannot but marvel at the great wisdom of Solomon's "books" in the Bible, if even from a common-sense secular point of view. His personal life, though, may have been a different story as he loved lots and lots and lots of women.... and that in itself can bring "problems". Yet, the old saying goes like this: don't do as I do, do as I say. No doubt that pearls of wisdom beyond compare emanate from the writings of Solomon.

The Bible is fantasy, and relgious people use such fantasy (mental illness) to escape from reality.
My studies and research shows that religious people are not exactly rocket scientists, they tend to be below average intelligence, and also have a tendency to be more violent than non-believers. In some cases, the more violent the person, the more religious they are. I suspect that the vast majority of religious people are well below average intelligence.
I wonder if trying to improve the intellectual standard of our global community, would help remove the various religions from our culture, and thereby improve happiness and peace for humanity.
It’s a statistical fact that the higher your education, income, and intelligence, the more likely you are not to believe in a god. For every college student that converts to a religious belief system, 17 college students convert to atheist beliefs.
Atheists have an average intelligence of 25 IQ points above their Christian counterparts. Ever wondered why the USA (75% Christian) is so arrogant, aggressive or violent towards others in this world?

Despite his purported wisdom, if you read the story of Solomon's life in the Bible, you find that he made a mess of it. Which leads me to conclude that wisdom is overrated. And if you read the Song of Solomon you'll find that he reached the same conclusion. All is vanity, including "wisdom".

according to the legend he acquired his wisdom from G-d himself.
right before he was to become king G-d came to him in a dream and asked him what would he like to have.
Solomon at the age of 12 answered that he wanted wisdom to lead his people.
G-d said that since you wanted wisdom insted of money or power I shall grant you all three.

No doubt that during his time and being a powerful king in the middle east those decisions he made has proven him wise. He asked God for wisdom instead of wealth and God was so please with his request so God him both...wealth and wisdom. He is even wise to please his God.
