I really don't think he will try to force the issue of you converting. Mormon boys, especially devoted ones, are wonderful boys to date. They are clean, fun, and will treat you with the respect you deserve. I have a son that will be 16 in October. He is awesome. When he has girlfriends, I treat them with respect. I am friendly, but would never force my beliefs on them. Good luck and keep your Mormon boyfriend...you'll be glad you did!!!

Oh man! I am sorry!
The whole crush thing - I hate to be such a downer, but - do you think it's something you can get over? From personal experience that seems like the only way... my brother and a Mormon girl have liked each other since they were 12, and it's just the most painful thing. The first time we stayed up all night hashing it out was ten years ago, and the last a couple weeks ago - and let me tell you, countless in between. I've never seen a way around it, and watching him all tortured like this - I don't know, it kind of seems like it'd be better if they just cut off clean.

Hopefully that's an extreme scenario, though. Oh, but getting involved with Mormons, when you're not Mormon - sorry, I'm just seeing the heartbreak angle of it. But I feel for you! Good luck.

Just call him up and be totally honest with him! Let him know that you'd like to still be friends but you aren't willing to convert. Let him know it's nothing personal but that you feel strongly about your spiritual beliefs. I'm sure he will appreciate your honesty. Just be aware that Mormons are a tight-knit group, and they tend to "hang out" with other Mormons because they share the same standards, values, and beliefs.

I'm just curious, how old are you? I'm Mormon, but not practicing, and from what I know, if he's very devout, AND his parents are, they will try to convert you. Just the nature of the beast, I guess.

Tell him that you feel good abou your religion and that it doesn't have to be an issue between you two. I would wait and see how he behaves before taking it to the next level.

I can understand your position. No one should try to persuade any one to change his faith. You acquire your faith by birth. You have full authority about your believes. You can tell him openly that he should not do it again, if he cares about the relationship. If he does not care then there is no reason why should you care.Be firm and do not allow anyone to play with your faiths and believes.

Get away from him while you still have all your faculties.
