Any programs to rapidly hit a key?

Can anyone link me to a program that will rapidly hit one key, evenwhile a different program is selected?

If you know java you can write a program to do it in about 5 lines. Use the Robot class. (other programming languages probably have a similar method, but java is only language i know) I don't know of any available programs to do it.

VB has a SendKeys procedure, but I believe that the program has to be active (selected).
