yes Lord and God is the same person. That Psalm is using the name "Lord" to refer to God, and is specifying at the same time that the Lord is his God (the Psalms were written by David). There are lots of different names for God as a whole (then of course you get into the Trinity and such). It's nice to hear from other people who like to study up on lots of other religions as well- I don't know why more people don't do it.

No, not different. The ancient Hebrews did not speak the name of God aloud OR write it in its entirety out of respect. So, they used subsitute words, such as Our Lord and added God to distinquish between an Earthly "lord" and the divine one.
Thus, "the Lord our God" is one entity--Yahwae or Jehovah as we Christians say, and do because we don't have that compulsion of the Ancient Hebrews.
Christianity is ALWAYS monothesist. ALWAYS.
Even the Trinity of God the Father/Jesus Christ the Son/ the Holy Spirit is one person, one entity, three different expressions of the same thing, if you will.

Lord and God are but mere titles such as President, King, Queen, etc. God's name is found in the Bible at Psalm 83:18 which says:
"That people may know that you, whose name is Jehovah,
You alone are the Most High over all the earth."
I hope this helps.

Lord and God have the same meaning, a comparescent example in Vedic Vaisnava tradition would be Govinda, Madana Mohan & Shyamasundara are all names of the Supreme Personality of Godhead Sri Krishna.

In an English translation of the Bible, the name for God, Yahweh, is translated as LORD. So the original most likely says, "For Yahweh our God is holy."

God is God, names are names.
Names for God are names for God, but God is still God, and names are names.
If you want to see the meaning of the psalm, as revealed from Spirit within, you have to put aside names, and listen for God.

God is called Lord in many monotheistic religions. The "for the..." part is just an old way of saying "because the...".

Lord is like master, and God is God.. Our God is also our Lord as we obey him.. He isn't an idol where we just worship him, we also obey him and he commands us as his children, so he is also a father to us..
I hope that I don't confuse you, but God has many names and as he reveals himself, he is also called our Provider..
