I'm 20 and thinking back on my highschool expierience I wish I had just made the most of my friends and the time I had. I regret the problems associated with boyfriend/girlfriend relationships I had. I wish I had just stayed single and enjoyed highschool more. Tell me how you feel.

Yes, regret it. Wasn't ready for it. Wish I would have spent the precious time doing other things.

My experiences in highschool weren't normal, to say, and I had a double-edged sword situation.

Let's see, I started dating seriously at 12, that relationship lasted 5 years, he called it off when I asked if it was actually going anywhere, thing was he got me pregnant and was having sex with another girl. The kid was aborted via punch to the womb, and that was the end of that relationship. Not quite a satisfactory relationship, I dare say. Boyfriend number 2 was much better, in the sense that he didn't cheat, but he was selfish, boorish, and attempted to rape me once we broke up. Once again, not a happy highschool relationship. My third serious boyfriend was way better, very generous, etc, but lacking in the social skills department, so after six months, we broke that up, but are still friends. That was the end of highschool dating as far as guys went.

I had the option of not being with those guys, but at some points they were all I had to talk to, and vice versa. So despite some of the more traumatic things that happened, I'm glad I had them around to talk to, cause my highschool years were pretty lonely up until I managed to find an outlet for my energy.

I'm 17. I'm going to be a Senior in high school in three weeks..(yay!) I haven't had a serious boyfriend..ever. I have the best time just hanging out with all of my other single friends. I see how my friends who "have to be in a relationship" get torn up over and over again because they trusted someone in high school with their heart and it doesn't make sense. Come out with us, have fun, party a little, go on dates..but don't get so emotionally attached!!! I don't think high schoolers..these teenagers ages 13-18 are emotionally ready for a committment like that. But thats just my opinion. I know some people who swear by relationships. I think I'll wait until I'm a little older. Or find a guy who's a little more mature.

I went to a boys school and was shy with the girls in my neighborhood so I didn't date much in high school. No girls in school did help me pay attention to the teacher but I regret not dating more during those years. I'm 63 and have been divorced for 5 years.

Those b/f g/f problems you had have helped you to learn about women and yourself so that, hopefully, you will be able to make a better choice of who to marry.

I can't say for sure, but if I had had more dating experience in high school and made my mistakes there, maybe I wouldn't have made so many mistakes later when the consequences were more severe.

Oh hell no I don't regret dating in high school! That is when dating was actually fun, and wasn't so serious (for me - it sounds like you had a different experience). I had a new boyfriend every 3 to 6 months, and for a while, I was dating two or three guys at a time (they were aware that I didn't want an exclusive relationship - I was honest with them). In high school guys didn't EXPECT sex from girls, so I could date more than one guy at a time without feeling like a total whore.

On the other hand, at the end of high school I got involved in a relationship with someone who manipulated me by threatening suicide, being extremely depressed if I wasn't with him every second, etc. I can see how being in a relationship that is too serious for its time can really ruin your high school experience. Fortunately for me, most of my dating time in high school was very casual and fun.

I didn't date until I was in my 3rd year of college. I'm glad I waited until I had my own place and the time to enjoy the experience.

Our first experience with dating and sex are what form are future dating and sex style.

Too many people still date and have sex like they did when they were 13 year olds because that is when they started. It's really embarrassing.

I'm all for waiting until maturity develops before getting into this whole dating/sex experimentation thing.

Haha, dude I am sooo with you man. I am 20 myself, and I agree, I should have stayed single and ventured out more.

High school is such an open venue for friends, connections, and dating, that
I really should of expanded my horizons....

Of course, I don't live my life with regrets, and I love everything I did in high school, but I DO wish the relationships hadn't bogged me down so.

But college is 10000% better than high school :)

No, I actually loved dating when I was in highschool. I am still currently with my highschool sweetheart and have been for 5 years and I am getting married next August. I thought dating in highschool was a great experience.

Nope! Never dated in high school. All the guys I knew I went to pre-school with.

I think that is why I got good grades and got into a good college.

I am 33 and I went to UC Davis

No, I don't regret. I think the relationships I had back then was pure and innocent. I still had friends at school and worked hard.
