It can be safe, you just want to check on all the feedback the person or business has received. THIS IS IMPORTANT!! Oh, and check the shipping cost. Sometimes something is sold cheap, and then they gouge you on the shipping. (No taxes have to be paid on it if it's counted as shipping!) Most individuals will not be able to take a credit card, and frankly, I wouldn't want to use one!! Set up a PayPal accnt, or some other type of online pay accnt. They are secure. I believe you can put money into your pay pal accnt from a credit card...but you would have to ck into that. You can transfer money from your checking accnt to the paypal accnt, but it can take 2 to 5 days. A lot of the indiviuals and businesses will take money orders though. I've been very happy with all but one of my over 50 ebay purchases...you just have to make sure to ck the feedback area and how much they are charging for shipping. You would need to think about how they will ship it, how it will have to be packed, etc to see if the shipping is inflated or not. Oh! Also, check to see what country they are selling/shipping from! If you order electronic equipment from overseas, you may run into a problem with the plug, since we use different voltage in the states. You don't want to have to buy and use an adapter all the time!!!
Happy Shopping!

In general, it is safe. Be sure to check the seller's feedback, and if it is positive overall, chances are high that the seller is honest and will deliver what is advertised. If you're nervous, only buy from sellers who have, like 100 or more positive feedbacks.
As for using credit cards, it's perfectly safe through PayPal. Just don't give out your credit card number to an individual--like, over the phone or something. Also, be sure to read PayPal's little tutorial about spoof emails, so you can be sure any email you get from PayPal is legitimate. Basically, emails will never ask you to verify your information, enter your password or credit card number, and that sort of thing.
eBaying is great, and there are tons of honest, trustworthy buyers and sellers who use eBay. Just learn your way around, and you should be fine.

eBay is the largest online marketplace and one of the most popular ways to earn an income from home with a PC and internet connection. Selling on eBay is inexpensive and easy to start. Ebay has a number of tools for sellers to maximise sales. These are eBay Pulse, Hot items report, merchandising calendar. By sourcing products at a low price, you can increase your profit. It can be unsafe if you don't know what you are doing otherwise it is very safe.
A bit like crossing a busy road: a chicken will get squashed, so will an ape. A trained Labrador will however help a blind man to cross it.
here's a nice page with some useful ebay links that you can follow:

and below is the direct link to joining eBay

Yes, I have bought quite a few things from there and have never had any problems. I use PayPal, which is what most sellers prefer. Make sure the seller has a very high feedback rating and check out the comments other buyers have left for him/her.

eBay is very credible....You can see a sellers feedback rating before you buy. I have never been ripped on eBay.
You can pay with a CC by setting up an account with PayPal,a third party pay service.

Yes and yes; BUT some sellers (like myself) are not willing to upgrade our membership (it costs more) and so we cannot accept credit cards so you may have to pay in another way.

Yes it is but I would set up a paypal account instead or use a prepaid credit card if you are nervous about it.
