I was in the Columbia Gorge last weekend and up at Timberline Lodge. I did not have any problems with mosquitoes whatsoever. I hiked to three waterfalls and there were no bugs that I noticed.
Have fun and hope this helped!

It wouldn't hurt to bring some, but I swear I was raised in Portland and often went to Multnomah Falls, and can probably count on one hand how many times I have ever been bit by a mosquito! Have fun while you're there! I miss it! I live in Italy right now, and would love to see Portland this time of year!

Mosquitos are not nearly as bad here as other parts of the country, but if you are going to be near water or in the woods in the late afternoon or early evening, definitely bring some mosquito repellent. Outside of that, you should be fine (as the person above said).

I have lived in Portland for over 8 years and have only been bit by skeeters twice and that was while camping in the forest. I would not worry about it if you are going to be in the city...Have fun and enjoy the awesome food.

Yes, it always helps to have it.....The must love me. But I have to admit, they usually find me when Im camping and they are especially bad in the evening......daytime isnt too bad. But whats a few bucks, go ahead and get some...no sales tax here.
