Is it part of the Muslim/Islamic religion to hate Westerners.?

I have read the Quran twice... and found the same answers each time.... while the word Islam itself means "peace".... muslims are taught in the Quran that anyone who does not believe as they do are Infidels... infidels are lower than dogs and deserving of death. If anyone refuses to follow Mohammed and to convert to Islam... by the Quran that person is to be put to death and if a muslim does this by way of a Jihad or Holy War.... they earn a guarenteed place in heaven.

Noooooooooo, this is the furthest thing from Islam! Besides, there are 5 million Muslims in the States alone. Why would Muslims wanna hate other Muslims???

The media makes us think that all Muslims hate America and all of the wonderful things we stand for, like freedom, prosperity, life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. That is a FALSE PICTURE that the media has painted. Muslims, for the most part, don't hate the West. Besides, the West didn't exist at the time the Qur'an was revealed. So, hating the West wasn't even a concept, not even a tiny one.

Actually no. The religion of Islam is actually a very peaceful religion. Sadly, there are sections groups of belivers that chose to interpret things in the Koran differently then the masses. Also, it doesn't help that certain governments blame every evil in existence on the western world, and then brainwash people into believing it. In some countries, for example Afghanistan, you believed what the government tells you, or else you, your family, and everyone you ever cared about will pay the price.

Westerner is a stereotype actually. Muslims define westerner as mostly American, who is spoiled and pays for others destruction through taxes.

And unfortunately its all more than a bit true.

But then again a lot of western countries hate the **** out of America too. Its all about who has guts to stand up.

But the Islamic Religion teaches nothing about hate to cultures/race/color/etc.

But hey you shouldn't just say Muslims hate the west, a lot of Christan's in the middle east and outside of America also hate America.

Hmmm... I doubt so actually, cause think about it. If it is the duty of Muslim/Islamic religion to hate Westerners... What kind of religion is that? It should be banned and never to be pratice.

If you want to you can always research on their religion and get to know some muslims, there are very friendly people. Really.

Honestly, this is a wrong conjecture. A Westerner may think like that, but I guarantee you, if that Westerner meets a Musim and come to know more aboutthe Muslim, s/he would forget about that. See some answers above.

I think it is part of your religion to hate muslims. Islam teaching us to love all people. But when western bastards ruin muslim countries... we just try to show our anger ( which is nothing compare to the hatred of westerns and jews to muslim people)

hey i'm a muslim from asia. i've got one thing to say. in my opinion muslims didn't dislike the westerns in the past. but after the ambush on the muslims of afghanistan and iraq, things have changed. before these ambushes we used to like westerns and their religions a lot. but its the westerns who turned on the heat. they did these ambushes for good reasons, i admit, but lets face it, war is NOT an option. we left war a long time ago. if u look at the past history of muslims, u will c that once we used to fight as well. but we gave it up. coz its not good.

the other thing is actually 90% of the muslims that hate westerns are fundamentalists, much like taliban-minded. and normal muslims like me hate them. we hate fundamental muslimism.

So the moral of the story is, bcoz of the fundamentalists (trust me, they are big in number) u think that all muslims hate westerns. but thats not the case. maybe we dont like westerns as much as the past, still, we dont hate them

Of course all good muslims and in line with islamic teaching we are not allowed to hate westerners and easterners,never mind their rsaces and their ethnics and where they live.Islam is a religion which most appreciate someone's rights.We should protect others life and others wealth or possessions.We can not hate others who have a good intention and friendly relationship to us.We muslims hate someone whatever his/her race,if he/she makes hostile and unfriendly acts to us.All inhabitants in this world are brothers and sisters for muslims.We are all the same as descendant of Adam and Eve. as our ancestors.Islam is religion for all of human beings who love peace and do not destroy and make damages in this world..Islam want its followers to help and to love each others.But we will re attack or kill if we are attacked or killed and if our religion be humiliated we will get angry. such as Israelis attack to Libanon and making publication of Muhammad in caricature .If we meet someone in the same or not the same religion we should give him/her smile and salam (peace)..Smile and salam are examples of the implementation of our religion teaching in our
daily life..It is included in our religious duties.If you found a muslim to kill or bomb some innocent people as a terrorist.

No, but the essence of muslim religion is to live and die by your principles.

Western Civilisation very likely appears corrupt to a muslim (and anyone that is honest!!), and therefore, it is opposed to their principles.

But any moslem who is true to thier faith, will not hate anybody, the same as any christian, or buddhist, who really knows the essence of thier faith, and lives according to it.

There are, of course, people of all faiths who turn thier teachings into somthing that suits them, even if it isnt true to the essence of thier faith.

So, if a people, say certain groups of arabs, are oppressed, or feel that they are being persecuted, it is likely that they will respond in defence, and seek to eliminate what they percieve to be oppressing them. Perhaps this translates into 'hate'.

But hate is of course foolish.
