If God is aware of everything that happens why do we have to pray to him to do the obvious thing like save peoples live etc who are threatened with death or injury , is he watching what is happening like the suicide bomber walking into a market place full of women and children and only stops the bomber if some one asks him to change is mind and stop it ?. Where was he Sept 11th ?

The answer to that question is rather obvious, God is just a figment of peoples imagination which evolved throughout history as a source for the unexplainable, which we now know is explainable, so that leaves no place for the man upstairs. terrorist bombings happen because people are crazy and stupid, an insane combination.

Spiritually speaking...YES. GOD is aware of everything that takes place on earth. God gives strength, hope, inspiration and so much more. We all have the choice to believe or not. Where was GOD on 9/11 ? Did GOD order that disaster or the horrific situation's the world over ? I DON'T KNOW.

I'd rather be wrong believing than right and a non-believer.

Interesting question. Probably not. I've always thought that God created the world the way He did- so that it would run on it's own "power" (created by Him, of course), allowing Him the time to watch, listen, and answer some of our prayers. He's not a "control freak" who manipulates our every move. He gave us ALL free will- & the right to make bad choices. What He pays close attention to, I think, is how we HANDLE the bad things that happen to us- whether it's when we get cancer, or our house is destroyed by a tornado, or the World Trade Center is attacked, or when someone we really love unexpectedly dies. Maybe these are some of the tests we must "pass" -in order to be worthy of joining Him in heaven. I don't know. But maybe this is part of His plan, and why the World is set up the way it is.

God is aware of everything, would he change reality if asked to, not necessarily. Why pray? Because to say something with your mouth or mind if different than assuming it. How would anyone know what you want or don't if you don't say something about it. God is not going to take away the bombers free will to do others harm just to protect innocents. He does what is in his will and to his glory not ours, we more often than not will not understand what is in his will and what is not. If we pray to stop those evil things, it says more about us than could actually do something to stop it. Besides we are the instruments of God here on earth if we are in his will we may be put in the right places to help change the outcomes, but if someone has choosen to do bad things then they have choosen and that is the free will we have been given, not even he will take that away from us, he promised it to us.

God does see everything... but we are called to pray to Him because he takes pleasure in hearing us talk to Him and tell Him what we want and need. The reason God didn't stop the 9/11 attack or similar attacks is because He gave man kind 'free will'... sometimes we have to face the consequences. If God were to stop all these things from happening, then instead of certain individuals complaining about "Why doesn't He stop such and such..." they would be asking "Why won't He let me do such and such?" Humans too often think that we are superior beings and therefore we should be able to comprehend the ways of God.. I think it's time we acknowledge that there is no way that the human mind can comprehend God's ways. God bless you on your journey.

God is aware of everything that is happening. The Bible says he knows when a sparrow falls from the sky. Jesus said he will meet our needs before we even ask. Although it stinks, I'm sure Sept 11th had a cosmic purpose that we will never understand. If prayer would have made God step in, I think he would have stepped in without prayer, you know what I mean? Just remember, as much as we hate it... sometimes God hears our prayer and his answer is no....

We were created to love and be loved by God. We don't have to pray. He asks us to because He wants to have fellowship with us. He also tells us to ask Him when we want or need something. Yes, He already knows about it but, He wants us to talk to Him about it. This is called a personal relationship.

September l l th, He was there and so were the Terrorists. This is earth. Not Heaven where everything is good fair and wonderful.

God isn't too concerned with the loss of lives, he is aware of the thing that Mr. Lavoisier found out, since he obviously made it so. The bombs, Sept 11, wars and whatever unnatural causes of death don't kill the soul. On Sept 11 he cried nonetheless, not for the loss of lives but for the pain people had to endure and some still have problems with. God doesn't care about matter and tangible things, it's the intangible and the unmeasurable aspects of whatever we do and don't.

Plainly God (Allah, Ywh, Atman and what ever names people use, to give the divine praise), is interested in quality not in quantity.

Hope that makes sense.

Yes The Creator is aware of everything that happens as we are a facet of The Creator. Which we call our souls.
Some people believe that when you enter this physical plane you have set up lessons to learn or teach others. And your life will not end until you have learned the lessons or taught all that you can to those that need it.
Sometimes the lessons are hard and painful or people will not listen to what you have to say because they are to busy to stop and listen.

Where was He when Jesus was crucified? God has already ordained that each and every person born will die. The way we die is up to God. We pray because He wants us to pray. Why? I don't know, but the creator does things the way he wants them ran. Don't question God...And yes He knows what is going on. For Him to not allow anything bad to happen would make Him out a lie and God is not a liar. He says that we all will die, how we die is not our choice but we must die some way or another.
