Why is it not against the law to drive while smoking while it is against the law (DUI) to drive while drinking alcohol. By the same token, pilots can smoke cigarrettes before flight but they cannot consume alcohol. After all beer is refreshing.

Beer makes you drunk and act stupid.
Are you drunk now that you ask such question?

Actually there was a news story the other day here in Australia about a guy who had an accident because he dropped his cigarette whilst driving and there was talk about banning smoking whilst driving as it could be a distraction to your concentration. And there is also strong pressure for smoking to be banned in the car when there are children present, (which is a derr factor anyway you dont smoke near children)......so it could be banned over here yet.... :-)

The effects of drinking last MUCH longer than those of smoking, if any. THAT'S why.. You can smoke, and be totally normal in 10 minutes, if it does anything to you at all (I get light headed, so I don't smoke and drive at the same time, EVER).
