In general if you care about a relationship, hold off on making out until after first date. Better to wait since there will be no negative consequences in the long run. Risk is that by making out too soon, one of individuals potentially might have less respect for the other.

completely depends, if you found your sole mate and the date lasted three days because you couldn't stop talking(exageration), then it is ok, it depends, i would not go looking to make out with someone on the first date
