It took going to my dentist, my endodontist and my oral surgeon to get this figured out. Pretty scary to have a lump on the side of your jaw.
I was pretty scared but am better now. They have me on penicillin. Anyone ever had this and have any comments on how long it takes for the lump and tenderness to go away??

i have no experience in this but i can tell you what it is and how logn it'll take because i've treated it many times. Its caused by your lymph nodes mass producing white blood cells and other things to help fight off infections or swelling or anythign it considers a threat. It usually takes about 4-10 days with medication like penicillin to go away. Just relax and let your body heal. Good luck and feel better.

Antibiotics usually take effect within 24-48 hours but can take up to 72, so you should be feeling at least a bit better in 3 days at the most.
