You can use DETERGENT...clothes detergent to try and strip some of the dark, if it works it will make it fade so you will need a back up color. What I really suggest is going to a salon, because no matter what these people say, the only way you can change it is to do a color remover. And you do NOT want to do that at home because it can leave blisters on your scalp, and if you do not apply it correctly you will have spots in your hair. If you are too proud to go to a salon....::GULP:: Then you can bleach it, only in steps: apply the bleach from 1 inch from your roots to 2 inches from your ends. Put on a shower cap or plastic sack so the bleach does not dry out. Wait about 3o minutes or until your hair has lightened to an orangy or dark warm red. Then, apply to your roots and ends and leave til they match the rest. Wash at least twice to make sure all the bleach is out, rinse with cold water and then put on a Demi Permanent or DEPOSIT ONLY color or toner. Leave for at LEAST 50 minutes. You will have to reapply a few weeks later because you used bleach for stripping, so the color will fade.

you have a few options.
the baby shampoo works well, but dish soap works better, also Suave, or Pert shampoo works well.
Trying to go lighter is hard on your hair, but there are ways to do it that are not quite so bad.
you can try whats called a shampoo cap. what you do is mix shampoo with hair bleach, or a color remover (available at a beauty supply) and "shampoo" it into your hair, when you have lightened to the shade you want, rinse. It will be ugly, and probably orange. You will have to color over it.
Use a color that is 1-2 shades lighter than you actually want. You will probably end up with a golden toned color.
Do not try to go to light, I would recommend no lighter than a medium brown. if you need more help feel free to message me.

A hairdresser told me to try Johnson's Baby Shampoo to wash my hair after my dye job was too dark. As I washed it, I could see some of the color coming out. I washed it every day for about a week with the baby shampoo and it really helped.

If you think now it is too dark & before this you think that you have to colored your hair.

Thats means you are not haappy with your hair.

Then last & final decision is cut your all hair.

Dear be happy in that what god make you.

If you just dyed it tonight then you can use this old trick...wash your hair with dishwashing soap (ie Palmolive). Be sure to condition really well after.
