It would help if we knew the age of your son.
But really don't pressure him. Boys are always later than girls with toilet training. You don't want to make him scared of the toilet.
He will tell you when he is ready.
Try setting up a sticker chart, so everytime he uses the toilet he gets a sticker.
Remember to give him lots of praise when he sits on the toilet. Even if he doesn't do anything.

I've been have trouble potty training. I started trying when my son was 3. He likes to pee in the potty but not the other. Someone told me to let him wear underwear and if he goes in his underwear then let him clean them out. This sounded sick to me but I thought I had tried everything else why not. It didn't work. I almost gave up because his doctor told me he would go when he was ready. Just before his 4th birthday I started trying again. And this sweet older lady in walmart overheard me talking to my son about the cost of pull-ups. She told me I should try using a timer. Make him sit on the potty every hour, for 5 min. each time and It took about a week. But it worked thank god!!! I hope this helps you and good luck!

Denpending on how old your son is, it could be a number of things. I am having th esame issue with my 6 year old. We went to the doctor a few months ago and I was told, he will grow out of it. Some kids just don't have big enough bladders to support them through then night. I tried everything. No water before bed, waking him up throughout the night to go to the bathroom, an alarm, making him change his sheets, using a reward chart, no sugar before bed, no red dye, ect, ect. If you are really concerned check with your doctor.

Let him soil his pants twice, and leave it dirty for at least 20-40 minutes. No nappies! The smell & the uncomfortable feeling will prompt him to ask for the potty.
