We bought a 2006 Ford Fusion in April. We live on a gravel road and keep getting rocks stuck in the metal plate below the gas tank. We have had to have the dealership clean it out three times already. Anyone else having the same problem, or maybe a different one that I should watch for?

Yeah, I've got an '06 Fusion and have the same prob when visiting my g/f who lives on a dirt & gravel road. Slowing to a crawl is the only way to prevent rocks from being flung all over the place. But had the same problem with my other car so it's the road, not the car.

Got 10,000 miles on my Fusion. Great car!

man i grew up on the dirt roads of kansas and i have seen everything from rocks in the top of a carb, to rocks in the brake drums. i think that you should really look at just driving slow. and as far as any problems go my buddy just bought a mazda 6 which is basically the same car and never had a lick of problems with it. they are great cars and i hope you have many good years with yours
