My parents were Christian but I never practiced their religion. I was taught to respect other people's beliefs and follow what I truly believe in. The reason that I could never believe in my parent's religion is because I cannot conceive of an all-powerful, all-knowing, all-positive singular deity. It simply has never made sense to me. I also could never be comfortable proselytizing my religion.

My parents respect my choice of paganism and would be very confused if I were to change my beliefs now (I'm in my forties). It is the only way of life that I know. And I happily return the respect for them and their beliefs.

My Dad will tell you he's Christian, but he plants & harvests by the Moon cycles! He is also very concerned and educated on the latest developments in Agricultural / Enviromental preservation. And he very seriously believes in herbal supplements and Homiopathy! So he might just be a little bit of a Pantheist....? But I'm definately not the same religion as my parents! Although most of us Wiccans will not deny that Jesus lived, or tried to teach a good thing, we have to draw the line at the religion that took that twisted it and turned it into what it has become today!
Blessed Be...

I am not a member of the same religion as my family, but my family was not very "religious".

I would say that my family is non-denom. Christian, but my mom was the only one to ever take me and my sister to church. My dad was raised Lutheran (I think) but has serious issues with organized religion. My sister and I attended a private Christian school for a couple years (I was in middle school/junior high and she was in elementary school). My dad and I even helped to build that school.

I left the faith when I was in high school. Why? Largely because the way that I was treated and because many of my questions could not be answered.

My sister is still Christian, as are her children.

I was always encouraged to explore and to study and to form my own thoughts/opinions/beliefs. I have studied a range of religions since that time, in academic and formal settings and independently, but I do not follow any particular religion.

My parents are Methodist. My seeking took me to Catholicism and my adult search is looking at Catholicism and Evangelical. There are practices in both that have helped me gain a greater understanding of God, my role as the creation and how to have a deeper relationship with Him. My parents were not my primary role models for my religious practices. In second grade I moved forward on my own and they were fine with that. Although that is a bit odd, it worked out. I did not do the same with my son. I took him to church every week and to all the special events for youths and families. It has been a good experience for both of us.

I'm not. My mom doesn't believe in anything and don't really know my dad, I chose my own beliefs on my own. I never went to church either or was forced to learn anything, I started learning when I wanted to.

My dad is Lutheran. I am Christian. I never liked being in the Lutheran Church, it seemed very similar to Catholic Church to me. I prefer to be in a Christan Church like one that is Assembly of God or Pentecostal.

Me. My dad developed his own and my mom worshiped Satan Claus. They're both dead now so I had to find truth with my heart.

No we're all Christian, just different sects. Just here to amuse you. Apparently it doesn't take much to amuse an athiest.
