Why do they put Braille on the drive-through bank machines?

Because they use the same machine at the drive-through as they do at the walk-up one, and the one in the mall, and everywhere else blind people go. Blind people also are free to use drive-up ATM's from the back seat, or while leaning over the driver. And, in most states, people with quite low vision are permitted to drive, but may not be able to read the often-white numbers on the often-gray buttons.

Also, some of us sighted people are clever enough to learn braille; therefore we can use the buttons without having to take our eyes off the screen.

Because it is cheaper for the companies that make the ATM machines to only make one version and then have it installed both inside and outside. The ones on the inside need to have Braille, so the ones on the outside of the bank piggy back on that.

I examine someplace that banks placed Braille onpersistent by using economic business enterprise machines to make it much less complicated to blind people who walk as much as the banks so they do no longer would desire to offer up their pin numbers..

stupid state law probably. Texas has a law that require sirens on all ambulance, so they have to put one on the emergency helicopter. Wonder if they ever used it.
