An idea, when we speak of ghosts, spirits in the like, they are never just chillin on earth are they, they always seem to be attached to something. Now, i am christian, so my belief in ghosts is existant, yet small. But what if, when you die, if you love someone, or something enough that part of your soul goes into it. In that case, do you not need your entire soul to cross over? In which case when you die, could you be attached to your spouse, home, child, etc... and not be allowed to cross over until you come to terms and either take that part of you back or give it up?

My dear friend! philosophy of death is very complex. Every religion of this world has different point of views on this vital event experienced by every living objects in this universe including our mother earth. What every body witness is the moment any living object takes the birth, the moment of death is decided at the time of birth. One should not be fear full about the death and what happens thereafter.I being a natural scientist moved lot alone but never seen ghost or evil spirit. We are part and partial of the "GAME" of Almighty,do sincerely and honestly the work assigned to us.Be Good,Do Good Think Good, Almighty will do good to us.God bless you.

That's pretty heavy. I've heard people say that what we think of as a ghost is an impression rather than a soul--like a footprint or a typolite. That's good, too, though. Maybe that part that gets left behind is like a stray hair or a shed skin cell--it's part of you and contains all of your DNA, but your body still functions the same without it.

The Bible doesn't mention ghosts, but it does talk about demons. It is my personal belief that ghosts are demons, not the disembodied souls of the dearly departed. I've had some experiences with "ghosts". this includes getting rid of them. To get rid of a ghost I commanded it to leave in Jesus name and prayed.
I know others that have done the same thing. Some demons (ghosts) don't leave easily and it can take a lot of prayer and even prayer groups to get rid of it/them. They HAVE to listen to the authority of Jesus through a true believer.

My thoughts on this subject are somewhat limited as I'm not sure if I believe in ghosts and I am Catholic. But it could be possible that ghosts or spirits just come back for brief periods to be with the ones they love or vice versa.

Why not, sounds like an interesting idea to me, but I think it is always left up to the spirit, I don't believe God would make it so they couldn't go home, to heaven or the like.

that is a bit complicated...in biblical theory your spirit lives on so it dosen't seem that it gets held back..your blood lines live on in your family that is why your parents or children have qualities similar to you..so if you are asking if a part of you gets left behind, it does in the blood..

god is a jealous god, he says he takes you all at once and you will be trialed in heaven come youre judment day. so i think with him its all or nothing, and i know its really hard cause i mean of course you should love your child, and god says thats okay but dont put him in front of god.
