I am married and yet I feel so detacted to my wife and friends. I think about things they do not, like the meaning of life and stuff like that. Am I supposed to feel that alone?

Yes. If you haven't made the commitment in your heart, it is only logical that you feel alone. I am sorry for your pain. A "soulmate" really doesn't exist - it's what people hope is akin to having an identical twin in spirit, preference, goals, etc. What they are looking for is a relationship with God - in a person.
My suggestion is to look inside yourself and be honest with what you really want. Express yourself in print or whatever medium you chose about your thoughts that are unlike your accomplices. Putting thoughts into words gives them a new, different type of life.
Look outside of yourself into where the solution lies for the question of your disatisfaction. God can help - you just have to be able to give yourself over. When all the answers on earth have been exhausted and been found wanting - it's time to look up.

well i feel like that sometimes. but i think that there is a way to reach ppl, and make them ur soulmate. the more detached u try to feel the more u drift away from the joys of ur own beautiful life. i dont mean to preach at all but pondering too much about such things really dont do much good except make u feel alone which u r not. dont look for a readymade soulmate. it doesnt happen. u gotta give to receive.

Well not really - but perhaps your wife and friends are just not really giving what you need mentally and emotionally. The truth is we come into this world alone and when that time comes to leave we are alone. Maybe try to join groups that interest you and peers who are of the same mind frame. Another possibility - you could be suffering from depression.

I feel like a single entity without another half.

I recently, however, found Buddhism, and I am able to search for answers within myself. I find that the reflection and focus help me fill a lot of voids.

Yes. We all think differently. But that does not mean we have to live seperately. To be together and enjoy a good relationship, u needn't think in the same direction.

Oh squiggly line in my eye fluid. I see you lurking there on the outer edge of my innovative and prescient. yet as quickly as I attempt to look at you, you scurry away. Are you shy, squiggly line? Why only as quickly as I forget approximately you, do you come back to the middle of my eye? Oh, squiggly line, it’s alright, you're forgiven. thumb me up in case you understand what i'm speaking approximately.. lol.

No...when the misery out weighs the happiness, it's time to bail! Sometimes, we don't realize how disconnected we've been...until we reconnect! Then we wonder what took us SOOO long! If you feel that there's more out there....it's probably waiting for you!
Blessed Be... ; )

It is where you are in your life now. It is a time for reflection as you figure out your priorities and where you should head. I have been there. Dianne

It's not fun, but it's real. Quiet despair is more common, than the voice, 'crying in the wilderness'.

I think it’s a matter of love. The more u love a memory, the stronger and stranger it is.
