haha it's full of things like that. That's why I gave it up a loooong time ago. Nothing worse than contradictions and hypocrisy.

Satan cannot do anything without God's permission. So there's no contradiction. God used Satan to move David against them. This was not wrong. God knows the heart. And he knew that David was having a little pride problem already relying on his army's numbers rather than relying on God for victory. When people are puffed up with pride, they are in Satan's power already, because they are, in effect, submitting to Satan rather than unto God. So God uses the destroyer in order to convict man of sin, with the will to rather save them from His wrath. In the New Testament, Paul handed someone over to Satan for the destruction of the person's flesh, to the saving of the person's soul. Far better to suffer temporally, than eternally. God is a God of love at all times, and he will do anything He can to convince people of their need for a Saviour, including letting Satan have at 'em. He allowed Satan access to Job, yet he told Satan that he could not touch Job's life (that he couldn't kill him). The bible SEEMS to have contradictions, but when you know the whole bible, all the pieces fit together to form a very clear picture of God's Word as Truth. I would advise you not to mock God and His Word. You could very well be next on the list for a visit from Satan. And it won't be pleasant. Repent now while you can.

Yes, this is another inconsistency.

It might be explained by the fact that in the Old Testament, "the satan" is a member of God's angelic court. The satan was a special angelic messenger sent to block or oppose. Note that the Hebrew has a definite article--THE satan. Later on in the New Testament, Satan becomes a proper name and is associated with the Devil.

ill explain this one for you. (by the way this took myself and one other person about 3 minutes to figure out) these are merely two different men's accounts of the same battle (as you probably already know). the second Samuel verse says: And again the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel, and he moved David against them to say, go, number Israel and Judah. The key word in this verse is he. notice he is not capitalized. in the bible, if God is ever referred to as he, it is ALWAYS capitalized. in this instance, it is lower case. The Lord simply allowed Satan (the he in this verse) to overpower David. the chronicles verse just adds in more detail, in no way does it contradict.

The bible is very full of contradictions and racist statements, along with sexist "women should never speak and her birth is a total loss" sentiments. That's why I converted to Islam. Now I am seen as a human being with my own sense of inviduality and the right to be supported by my husband. Any money I make or am given is mine to do with as I please and he can't say squat about it. I also now know exactly what the Creator wants of me, and that religion is not as hard as most like to make it. Thank GOD I found Islam. Otherwise, I might have been dead from the path I was going down.

I think of it this way, In II Sam. God was anger with Israel, his Israel, in the same way we get angery with our kids, that doesn't mean we don't love them or have to discipline or teach them a lesson now and again, In I Chron., well Satan has never been a fan of anything that God loves.

I don't see this as an inconsictancy.

No inconsistincy, God used satan prove Jobs loyalty. God used satan at the cross.

His ways are not our ways nor our ways his ways.

1Co 1:20
Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?

1Co 1:21
For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe.

Ga 6:7
Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.

everytime an athiest post something they just push me closer to God. For their wisdom is misguided at best and outright fallacious at worst.

God is still in control my friend, for He is I AM!

He didn't use Satan, he allowed Satan, Just like he allowed Satan to test Job's faith, you will note that in the book of Job that Satan had to get permission from God to do the things he done to Job and God told him he could do anything but take his life, for God knew that Job was a faithful servent.

I am never too sure about how the Bible was translated into English to really know if the inconsistencies you perceive are accurate translations. So many times, when translating into another language, the deeper and true meaning is lost.

Fact. Every book on Animation History, including those from the most brilliant minds like Richard Knight and Leonard Maltin, get's the background of animator Eveylyn Lambert, who worked with Norman McLaren at the NFBC, wrong! Without exception!

They all claim she went to science school. In fact she did not. She went to Art School. How do I know this. I was reasearching a book on women filmmakers and I decided to contact a few and Ms. Lambert and I talked on the phone and she begged me to straighten history out!

Why is history wrong? All these lovely PH D historians use the SAME ROOT SOURCE and it was wrong!

So, should we now DISMISS HISTORY, TAKE IT OUT OF THE SCHOOLS, should be BURN ALL OUR TEXT BOOKS because EVERYONE SINGLE ONE OF THEM WITHOUT EXCEPTION (and I read every book in English) GOT IT WRONG!

Your are learning it WRONG at Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Stanford, NYU, Columbia, Oxford and Cambridge. They are telling you a lie. A story that ins't true! But you learn things WRONG in college and I know it for a fact!

I know it for a fact.

But that is no reason to END HISTORY.

Someone got something wrong and the ARM CHAIR historians with their PH Ds just copied it over and over and over and over in their own books, because they NEVER PICKED UP A TELEPHONE and CALLED EVELYN LAMBERT IN CANADA, like I did!

Do I make my point here?!
