Sounds like he has a skin condition or allergies. You should get him to a vet for a check. He'll need medication to relieve his itching.

well it sounds like he has fleas, sometimes you do not even see fleas, go to the vet and ask for a tube of advantage, (know your kittys weight cause there are 2 sizes) and you do nt need to see a vet you can just walk in any vet and buy a tube , and if he is an indoor cat you only have to do this once every 6 mos. as for the scabs just buy some triple antibiotic ointment (for people) and rub a little on the scabs, rub it in some and do not put too much cause you do not want them licking it off, eme if this helps, god bless

my neighbor does not even believe this but i gave my kitten a bath in shampoo for kittens and cats that takes care of a lot of things like you have mentioned...she could have fleas or something like that...my cat did not itch or anything but i just wanted to give her a bath cause i am a real clean person... i also put some thing on the carpet and that helps protect us from fleas or anything a cat might get...i think you may have to take your cat to the vet if she continues to scratch herself like that...i know a scratching post is good but this sounds like she has fleas or she is allergic to something....my cat is not a nervous cat at all....i got her as a baby and i petted her so much and taught her to eat and drink milk...she was weaned from her mom to young.,.her mom was wild and the kittens were all over the apartment complex...but i have got her tamed down real good...people do not believe how well she behaves,,,but she loves to play with anyone that comes in...

Could be allergies, fleas, or a skin conditions cats sometimes get for unknown reasons. Try changing his cat food to CD formula. It will prevent him from getting urinary tract disease and also might help with the itching. That happened with my cat. She had years of cortisone shots and it wasn't until she had a reaction to the cortisone (high blood sugar causing infections in her bladder) and was switched to the CD food diet that she stopped itching. The itching was caused by store brand cat food all those years.

Your cat might have an allergic reaction to fleas, or a skin allergy(Dermatitis), or food allergy. Don't give your cat "people medicine". Take your cat to the Vet.. You know how bad an itch feels!

It could be an allergy of some kind. Does he get any exposure to the outdoors? If so, there's no telling what he could have come into contact with. It could also be a food allergy. You might need to take him to the Vet and get him checked out.

maybe your cat has fleas. That's what makes a cat scratch in those places.
