He keeps looking at you in class/work/lunch/etc. then when you try to look at him he turns away.

Usually, if a guy likes you (and I am assuming that you are young), he smiles at you and gives you eye contact. He may try to act like he doesn't like you around your friends, because that would make him look uncool. However, if he really likes you, he will talk with you and maybe call or IM you.

It really depends on the guy. Some guys act all smoothering, some will make any excuse to see you, some will be totally shy around you. Just observe his interactions with other females and see if you can tell if he really likes you or were you just getting signals crossed.

There is a difference between likes and wants to get with you. Likes he actually listens when you talk he smiles when you are around He calls YOU. (unless he's shy) wants to get with you... really cocky and arrogant doesn't listen only calls for booty call.
