when i first got my kitten it was not weaned from her mother or anything...i had to put her mouth down in the water and the milk to get her to even try to eat...it took a couple days but she finally learned what food was..i put out soupy cat food and finally she started eating pretty good...i petted her all the time...i showed her the litter box..she did good except when she was on high places and she did not know how to get down...or she was afraid to get down...but now she is growing like everything and eats good...i keep food out all the time and fresh water...and she uses her litter box real good...but now she climbs everywhere and i do not think she is afraind of getting in high places at all now.. it is time for her shots and i have to get her spaded...i have been thinking about having her front paws declawed since she likes to claw me when she is playing...so do not be afraid just work with her constantly for a few days or a week and get her on her way...

First of all, make sure the kittne is old enough to be taken fromthe mother. It should be at least eight weeks old. Second, give it plenty of water and kitten food, no adult cat food please! Third, get the kitten the necessary shots as soon as possible, and have it dewormed, because every kitten is born with worms. They get them from the mother during pregnancy. Fourth, handle the kitten with care. Don't toss or guggle it, just hold it and pet it.

kittens are pretty low maintenance. Make sure it has plenty of fresh kitten food (read the directions on the package for serving method) and water, and make sure you have a potty all set up for it. Keep the litter clean, or else kitten will start looking for other places to go.
Keep a spray bottle handy to squirt it if it tries to climb the curtains, and lop it gently on the nose if it bites too much, but other than that, enjoy. Kittens are cute and fun!
And seriously kiddo, ya gotta learn how to spell. But that has nothing to do with the kitten.

Make sure your kitten has it's own space. A small area( like a small box),very young kittens ,don't like to be in a large area. It frightens them.. The kitten likes a cozy place with a small cover( hand towel, or small blanket).Your kitten (if very young) may not use it's litter box, at first. He may use his small area..Make sure he has a small container of water, one he can reach down into, If your kitten is old enough for food, give it moist, dry ,kitten food. Too much milk is not good for the kitten, and can cause tummy up-sets. Have him/her a small litter container, so when he/she is ready ,it will be ready. If your kitten can't sleep, or is restless, put a small clock in his bed with him. The clock, simulates the mother cat's heartbeat...Your kitten can't be treated for fleas until he/she is 8-10 weeks old..Too much canned wet food is not good for a tiny kitten, it might cause tummy up-sets.lol..good luck with your kitty

Just make sure it goes in the litter box. Feed it, water it. And don't step on it or let it outside. Plus I would feed it hard food, not that soft mooshy stuff, because if you don't feed them the hard stuff, their poop will smell horrible. Also make sure to give it the proper shots it needs. I have three, and they have turned out to be fine. Just go to a vet if you're really unsure about things.

my advice is to baby the hell out of it. the most important times is its first year so keep it in a nice comfortable space with warm blankets and use a milk bottle to feed it milk, if it starts mewing again try feeding it or gently rocking it to give it comfort ( i luv cats despite my name : ) )
