Interresting....

Too start off you dont become "a sheriff" unless you are elected and there is only one in the county. You may be a sheriffs deputy, but you just dont apply to be sheriff. It is an elected position. My dad is actually the Sherif of Sheboygan County here in Wisconsin.

They do care about your history even though someone else on here says they dont. Being honest is always the best bet, but that doesn't mean you will get a job just becasue you are honest.

Misd. are not good.......and 2 are even worse. I'm not going to lie to you....you probably wont get a job with those. In the state of wisconsin you may not carry a firearm if you have any misd or felonies so that would be a problem. I don't know if it differs in other states.

I'm going through hiring processes now and have been turned down at some places for the one speeding ticket i have....it all depends on where you apply. Good luck to you in the future.

Polygraphs are only effective if you believe they are. If you think its a piece of junk and doesn't work, then it wont work on you. But if you're going to lie, I'm not sure how good of a sheriff you're going to be. As an officer of the law you are suppost to be all about integrity and honor. Be true to yourself.

You just gotta be popular, so get out there, meet people, and ask them to vote for you for sheriff.

To become a sheriff, you must be elected. How you become a deputy sheriff depends on the agency. Requirements to become a law enforcement officer and how you become a law enforcement officer depends on the agency. Visit the websites of the agencies that you might be interested in working for. Agency websites often provide information about their applicant requirements, about how to apply, and about their hiring process. Some relatively common minimum requirements include having at least a high school diploma or ged, being a citizen, being at least 21 years old, having a valid driver's license, and having no felony convictions. Some relatively common steps in hiring processes include application, written test, physical fitness test, interview, drug test, medical examination, and background investigation. Getting law enforcement officer jobs is becoming more and more competitive. Any red flags can hurt your chances of getting hired by some agencies. It would probably be difficult for you to get hired.

if you have no morals and are very dishonest, you have a good shot at making it. all so called law enforcement, is nothing more than organized crime with a badge anyway..............
