Just go to your drill sergeant and tell him/her that you don't want to be in the army anymore. before 90 days it is your option.

So you've decided that you do not want to be in President Bush's Republican Guard after all eh? When I went through basic a couple of the troops were booted out after being transferred to the medical wing.

So start acting a little crazy, or get physically hurt somehow, like break a bone or something..

Or wash out by not meeting the minimum requirements anymore like not being able to do enough pushups or run long enough, that type of thing.

You signed your name as an adult to a binding contract. The best way of getting out of basic is to finish what you started. How could one live with themselves if they can be trusted to honor a committment?
The world situation was nealry the same a month ago, there should have been no surprises.
If you joined wanting something else, something other than the military was offering, it is your fault.

I'm assuming you aren't talking about yourself since if you were in basic training you wouldn't be on the computer so....if this is a question on behalf of someone else I would just encourage them to tough it out and stick with their commitment. There are no GOOD ways to get out. Anyone who would use a deceptive means if there were any that worked would be cheating himself as well as the government. Basic is something hundreds of thousands have gone through before and no one should feel so incapable of getting through it that they would need to quit. ...unless they are a quitter, in which case they have more problems than the military. Boot camp can be overwhelming and everyone gets discouraged and feels like quitting. Just be encouraging but if you care about this person don't be too sympathetic. Remind them of the oath they took and let them know you expect them to live up to it.

Don't do it. You made a commitment, and you need to follow through with your end of the bargain. You can't judge your experiences in whatever branch you're in just by boot camp, because it will change and be much better. Basic Training is temporary, live with it. Anything that you do to rip yourself out of training right away has to potential to follow you the rest of your life.

A contract was signed, you can't just quit because you are having a bad day. Boot camp/Basic training is NOT what the real military is like. Things do get better once you get to the real Military.
