Why do our American soldiers have to hear threats from the ACLU?

The U.S. Marine in Iraq who shot and killed an enemy combatant who was pretending to be dead but in reality was alive. If you have any feelings for this Marine who was doing his job.This is an American Hero.
He called out to his buddies that the person was faking, the person
apparently made a suspect move and the Marine shot him dead. There was another combatant in the room who identified himself as being wounded...The Marines did not shoot him. The ACLU are claiming the Marine is guilty of a war crime. This is ridiculous!

Bill O'Reilly of the Fox News Channel feels there is overwhelming support for this young Marine -

Let's prove him right- we can make a difference!
The servicemen fighting for our freedom and safety deserve our support.
If these communist ACLU don't approve of America and support our troops, why don't they just pick up their trash and leave?!

The ACLU is trying to singlehandedly destroy America. Even my liberal friends agree. I absolutely support this young Marine as every American should.
Who needs terrorists when you have the ACLU?

First of all, the ACLU only helps people to file suits against government agencies, in defense of people's constitutional rights. So, if you think requiring the government to abide by constitutional requirements is communist, then you obviously are not a supporter of the ideals that this country was founded upon.

Second, the ACLU doesn't file suits against individual people. That's outside their purpose. So, wherever you got the information that the ACLU is bringing the suit, they should check their facts. Not to mention that they wouldn't have legal standing even if they did want to sue (not that anyone seems to care about how the law actually works then they're on a rant).

Third, the entire concept of a trial is to determine who is guilty and who is innocent. I seriously doubt you were there when the incident happened. Nor was O'Reilly. So, at best you're basing your opinion on what somebody on TV told you, more likely what O'Reilly reported fourth or fifth hand. Do you always based your opinions on what other people tell you to think, without any first hand knowledge?

But you're right. It is "majority rules". Which is just another way of saying "might makes right". Just like any other tyranny.

And to think this country actually used to be a nation that respected and abided by its own laws.

Two sides of every story... As much as I can't stand most of what the ACLU expels or drivels from its drug induced coma. I can only say If the Marine felt threatened by the individuals actions or the individuals refusal to follow commands to surrender then the insurgent died by a righteous shooting. But if the Marine ignored any "attempts" by the individual to surrender then Oops the Marine screwed up and will go to jail for it. My opinion is the Marine shot a combatant that refused to surrender. To prove it might be a problem but I'm behind the Marine 100 %.

The ACLU seems to be a bit wish-washy. I do not support them for what they are claiming... our troops are under alot of pressure out there and when they are in a situation such as the one posed... the action taken is totaly justified. There are war crimes committed by our guys... but this I will say, is not one of those crimes and the ACLU needs to leave him alone.

questioning this obscene war built on lies and other govt abuses of power and wealth is what real american patriots should be doing- isnt it amazing that its always the poor people who have to go and fight for the rich, and it always seems to be either to expand and safegaurd the capital/wealth of the rich.
