I would do one of two things. 1) tell him you are busy and he has to butter his own bread or 2) Hand time the baby and tell him to take care of the baby and then butter his bread. If he was my husband I would tell him to do both.

Get that spray butter. It'll take like 3 pumps to cover the bread, it will show him that you don't really want to be bothered buttering his bread when he can do it himself, but in the meantime, it will save you time. Get it in pink or something too to really tick him off! haha! Tastes just like regular butter though, so maybe it will even encourage him to do it himself. I think it's made by "I Can't Believe It's Not Butter".

Or ask him to do something else for you while you do that for him. Like while you're buttering his bread, he can wash the frying pan for you or empty the dishwasher, or something like that. That way neither one of you are really getting the short end of the stick.

If neither of those are good options, just sit him down one time when the baby's sleeping and tell him that it upsets you and it makes you feel like he's treating you as a servant rather than his loving wife. Make sure to get pouty-faced. The guilt trip can work wonders! Good luck!

Although I agree with bevdms and slinkey_1616's answers, that maybe he's just a little subconsciously jealous of all the attention you give the baby and kind of wants some attention for himself. Make sure you leave enough "us time" each week.

He's most likely jealous of the attention that you give the baby - the dynamics of marriage usually change with a new addition. And the attention towards the baby may seem like less attention for him.

Maybe you can talk with him about this - tell him (in a nice way) that you're usually busy when he wants your attention, but maybe there are some ways that you guys can show your love/attention for one another that may have to be different now, since baby takes so much attention.

I think it takes minutes to butter a sandwich, why don't you ask him to hold the baby first or place a crib near your kitchen and make a sandwich besides your baby!Your baby's cry for minutes won't kill your baby, instead this is a therapy for baby's lung exercise and a preparation for your baby to become a diva singer when she grows up! Just do favor to your husband, maybe because you are the only one he knows who made the best sandwich he ever tasted!

Are you trying to say that your husband askes you to do stuff for him when you are busy with the kids.
Well if that is the case. Its just that he is jealous of the baby and probably doesn't even know it and wants some of your attention

Tell him if he isn't crippled to do it himself. My sister-in-law set my brother straight by doing that. If she was up getting herself the same thing like a drink or something...fine . But if she is busy and he's just sitting on his b*tt then she told him to it himself. It only took a month and now he gets up & his does stuff ...she even told me he takes out the trash now. How about that?

I'd butter his bread all right. it may take pliers to remove it out of his backside...but it would go in smoothly with all the butter on it.

I used to ask my dad to do it because he knew exactly how much butter I wanted and needed. It` s not that he is lazy he just likes you to do it as a sign of affection. I know sounds weird but ask him.. He likes when you do it!!!
He thinks it`s special when you do it!!!
