I mean, here we have 40,000 illegal Chinese people who were caught ... deportation was in the air ... what happens? China refuses to accept them back!! Great! So Michael Chertoff says ...well, we can't deport them to China... they won't take them back... so we'd better let them go ... politicians say, well, there's too much at stake with China ... trade and all that, we can't put any pressure on them ... and Homeland Security releases them again ... presumably to merrily roam around the countryside illegally ...all this on Lou Dobbs tonight, so I'm afraid I don't have a link ...

Question: We have the ludicrous Patriot act ... we have the inefficient Homeland Security ...we have millions of illegal immigrants that our administration doesn't seem to give two craps about ... we have the fifth columnists in the U.S bleating about poor illegals, but whose noises and actions help big business to create a permanent underclass .. does anybody have any solution to this godforsaken mess?

The law says if the country won't take them back and they have no other crime they have to be released. What China is pissed off at is that we offer their citizens asylum here. They stated that if we stop offering asylum, they will take them all back. That law comes from a 2001(?) supreme court case that was ruled you cannot jail an illegal with no other crime more than six months.

It does show that each country has a separate and distinct relationship with us over immigration and always has.

But in fairness the HS has been able from time to time negotiate return of them in small numbers. What they have a hard on for now is Mexicans all the way down south.

I saw that today on Lou Dobbs. I can't believe that we are the most powerful nation on earth and that is what we are supposed to trust to secure our homeland. It's like Lou said, it's a joke.

I see Squirrel graced us once again with her particular brand of incoherrant babble. I guess she just couldn't pass the question up, yet couldn't find it in her brain to come up with any logical form of what we could call, an answer....

Tell them and keep telling them-they hate nagging-write your reps.
And I am afraid that the people are taking in hand all over-county after county. It won't be long to things come to a peck. Look what has happened already. Soon someone will target their jobs and they will do or get out-no lifetime benefits if your dismissed for not doing your job.

first i think triumph the dog must be with the CIA, 2nd those laws where passed to take away freedoms Americans once enjoyed just as much as they where passed to protect us, I'm not concerned with immigrants im worried that someday i might not be able to make this statement in America

Maybe we shouldn't grant visas for people from countries that don't have agreements in place to take deported people back.

sounds like you listen to too much talk radio. they always have everything figured out, don't they? that's because if there's a followup question, they turn down the volume on the caller, so there is never a rebuttal.

When we scream loudly and long enough, our inept leaders will begin shaking in their shoes and just may be fearful enough to act like Americans instead of world puppets...
