I just adopted a 6-week-old Jack Russell Terrier puppy... but he needs a name! I have a 1 year-old Jack Russell named Greta, too. New puppy has a brown head, three white patches on his back, white legs, brown sides and two black stripes down his back. His tail is solid black with a white tip. I tried to watch his personality, but all he does is sleep and jump around the house. I want him to have a strong name with character and meaning, but I can't think of anything!! I don't want to name him Tigger or Tippy or Socks, that's for sure... He's a sweetheart and very good-natured and he's got the sweetest face. So, any suggestions?
Best/cutest/strongest/most meaningful name gets 10 points... please, help me!

I forgot to mention, he's going to be CKC registered... so I need something original--and something that can be shortened to use as a one-word name.

ok this is a rele fun thing to try. ok i found this website that is hawaiian dog names and their english translation. there are a lot of cute combos you can try and still be able to shorten them into cute household names.

we have a dog 2 and he's certified...so if you know the dog's parents names...you can put it into your dog's name.
we wanted ours to be called Shilo b/c how timid he was. his parents names were:
dad-Summertime Midnight Blues
mom-Lakewood's Bell of Lancelot
so we called him Shilo Summertime Bell Robinson
does that help??

How about Rumplestilskin - Rumple for short. Or maybe Braunstein (pronounced Brawn steen). Since he's a Jack Russel Terrier you could name him Jack Daniels

Brandon Dicamillo. Shortened to Dico. Brandon is a nice name, for anyone. Brandon means 'Little Raven' as in, a small energetic creature. Dicamillo can be shortened to his nickname, Dico [ Dee - Ko. ]. There are far too many puppies with the name Niko, out there. Dico sounds just as nice, with a nice little twist. Congratulations on your new baby!

How about Oliver? Ollie for short or you could name it Brisco. Both are cute and the second one is more original. Oliver means smart and willful. Brisco is original (at least i think it is.....) Good Luck with whatever you name the puppy!
