Expecting an outside source to be responsible for our happiness/entertainment.
When I get bored I either look to try to do something productive or do something for someone else, or I will complain to other people that I'm bored (this is usually useless but I enjoy doing it anyway).

Boredom comes from lack of mind-building stimulation. When I feel bored, I either pick up a good book to read or I get on Yahoo

Boredom is a state of the restless mind. The only really effective way of dealing with it is through meditation. We need to learn how to watch the mind - with a non-judgemental, unbiased, non-thinking state. Just bare attention and awareness. Gradually the bored mind will be transformed to one of calmness, peace and joy.
